I’m planning to commission a ring for my sister’s 40th birthday  yellow gold, oval ruby, with a halo of diamonds around it. The birthday is about four months away and I genuinely don’t know if that’s enough time or if I’ve already left it too late. I also have no idea what the timeline looks like at different stages — like, how much of that time is design and how much is actually making the thing? And does the complexity of the piece affect how long it takes significantly? I want to go fully bespoke but I also really can’t miss this deadline.
