Hey folks! I’m renovating my apartment and debating whether wallpaper is still a good option compared to paint. I like the idea of adding texture, but I’m worried it might feel outdated. I was reading about how wallpaper trends come and go on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallpaper. What’s your experience—worth it or not?

Hi! Wallpaper has definitely made a comeback, especially with modern patterns and materials. I work in interior design, and a lot of clients now prefer wallpaper for accent walls or bedrooms. It adds character in a way paint sometimes can’t. The key is choosing the right pattern and quality.

I agree with. I used to think wallpaper was old-school, but after my last renovation, my opinion changed. I went with a subtle textured wallpaper in the hallway, and it completely transformed the space. Installation quality really matters though—bad installation can ruin even the best wallpaper.

That makes sense. I was actually considering installing it myself to save some money, but now I’m not so sure 😅 How hard is it really? Did you guys do it on your own or hire someone?

Honestly, I tried DIY once and it was a mess. This time I hired a local service I found while searching for wallpaper installation near me – https://bestwallpaperinstaller.com/, and I’m really glad I did. I personally used their services, and the difference was huge—clean seams, perfect alignment, no bubbles at all. It cost a bit more, but totally worth it for the final result.

Yeah, professional installation makes a big difference, especially with patterned or textured wallpaper. Clients who go pro are usually much happier long-term. If you’re investing in good materials, it makes sense to install them properly too.

Got it, that convinces me. I think I’ll focus on choosing the right design and leave the installation to professionals.

I totally get your dilemma about wallpaper vs. paint! When renovating, it’s easy to get stuck on the details. I recently redecorated and considered wallpaper for a feature wall, but I was unsure if it would be too much in the long run. In the end, I went with paint, and I’ve been really happy with how it turned out. That being said, one thing that helped me during the renovation was getting a mattress topper for my bed. It was a small investment, but it made a huge difference in comfort. It made the room feel complete, just like picking the right wall finish. You could consider a subtle texture with paint, though, to get that warm feel without the hassle of wallpaper.
