OfflineI relocated here a few months ago and I’m trying to figure out car care in this climate. Back home, I just followed the manufacturer’s schedule and never had issues. But a colleague warned me that the heat here destroys cars differently. I’ve been reading up on managing vehicle fluids in extreme temperatures and it seems like the intervals for oil, coolant, and transmission fluid changes are totally different. For anyone who’s been here a while, do you really change your oil twice as often as the manual says? And is it worth using a specific brand of coolant? Just trying to avoid a costly breakdown in the summer.
