OfflineI rely on my pickup for everything from commuting to hauling materials for side jobs on the weekends. It takes a beating and I expect it to, but the maintenance costs are starting to feel heavier than the loads I carry. I change the oil regularly but lately I have been wondering what else I should be doing to keep this thing running without emptying my wallet. I have been reading up on cost-effective vehicle maintenance tips that actually make sense for a truck that works for a living. Things like rotating tires more frequently because of the heavy loads and actually greasing the chassis parts that most car owners ignore. I want to keep this truck for another hundred thousand miles but I cannot afford dealership labor rates every time something needs attention. What are the best maintenance practices you guys have learned that save money in the long run without cutting corners on safety?
