Been a while, huh guys?!? Just thought I’d drop in for old times sake and see how everyone’s doing, as well as comment on the state O’ the industry.

First off, GOOD GUYS: FromSoft for Bloodborne. Fucking fantasitc evolution of the Souls system with a cosmic horror story to boot. Almost single handedly kept my PS4 from being a fucking brick this year lol! CDProjectRed for The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. Nothing I can say that has not already been said, It’s a masterpiece. Manual, Lore booklet, A MOTHERFUCKING THANK YOU NOTE?!? A cool keychain, and we’re note even to the game yet, which shipped polished and sharpened to a razor’s edge. To top it all off, several pieces of DLC for FREE!!!!!!!! Take note shitty game industry, This is how you make and ship a game! Devolver Digital for Hotline: Miami. Sick, twisted, politically incorrect, and a whole lotta fun! Tom Happ for Axiom Verge. This is as close to Metroid as I have gotten since Prime 1! It will probably be as close as I will get for a while since The Big N has lost it’s fucking mind again. Nintendo for Mario Kart, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and Splatoon. SEE, YOU DUMB MOTHER FUCKERS CAN STILL MAKE A GOOD GAME EVEN WITHOUT MONGUNZOO AS AN INVESTOR WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE IT LOL!!!

BAD GUYS: Ubisoft for Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate. Fuck you for shipping that glitchfest and making gamers pay for it! Good luck keeping your audience after that! EA for essentially their entire catalogue, but a special place in hell for Battlefront. So we get half a game for 60 sheckles, have to buy the othe half for 60 or so more sheckles, cannot get the servers right day one AND IT IS ENTIRELY SERVER BASED SO ONCE THEY SHUT ‘EM DOWN YA’LL HAVE A 120 DOLLAR COASTER! what a joke…. Konami for fucking up the last third of what could have gone down in history as the greatest action shooter ever made. Great despite Konami’s negligence. Hope those pachinko machines work out, don’t come back if they don’t! Bethesda for Fallout 4. Somewhere in an alternate dimension a 6 feet tall atheletic Todd Howard is showing off a graphically powerhouse fallout 4 running at 1080p and 60 frames per second. This is NOT that universe. Reaching a whopping 0, FUCKING 0, frames per second at times on xbone, that’s not a game it’s a painting. Hang it on your fucking wall! Xeno is 4 times as large, looks better graphically and runs smoother aside from a small draw distance, and all on an ‘inferior’ machine. Proving my point that post sixth generation graphical power is just a crutch for lazy and talentless developers. Oh well they need jobs too, which is why we have Bethesda!

Welcome back Mong.  Looks like you’ve had plenty of time for gaming.  Hope all is well in life and business as well.

I haven’t had the chance to play many new releases this year, but I will say that Splatoon totally blew me away.  Easily my favourite Wii U game.  Super Mario Maker is great too, though I’d say it merely meets and does not exceed expectations.

As far as gaming bad guys go, I think Konami is hands down the industry’s biggest villain this year.  I find the whole situation very depressing, since Konami used to be amongst the best of the best.  On a positive note, their ungraceful exit from video game development has actually inspired me to go back and play some of their older classics like Gradius Gaiden and Castlevania Rondo of Blood.  I’m planning to get to Suikoden II at some point too.

Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

Things are going great, Rush. The only regret is that current business ventures are leaving me little time for anything, gaming included! I haven’t finished any of the games I named, save for Axiom Verge and Hotline Miami. Games are just too big anymore….. How about you? How you doing?

Konami really disappointed me with how they handled their withdraw from gaming. I know WHY, but the way they went about it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Hey Mon, Happy New Year! Konami will always remain one of my fave companies of the nineties, no matter what they do now. Too many companies I remember fondly are either buried or have become non-entities in the gaming world so I won’t harbor resentment towards Konami specifically. Still I chuckled reading your rant and especially the Fallout 4 zero fckin seconds bit, takes me back to Virtual Hydlide on the Saturn. That was like an oil painting at times, running at less than 5 fps.
