^ I’m willing to bet they’ll put out a 3DS DK Tropical Freeze by probably Christmas next year, maybe earlier. According to Eurogamer and pointed out in this article, more units of Knack were sold in its opening weekend in the UK only compared to WiiU system sales bought in 2013 so far, including the Super Mario 3D World launch. Your ship is sinking fast Nintendo and you’re asleep at the helm, a few bailing you out with all the 3DS/2DS pokemon bundles, but boy is that weak.

Also, the Xbox One and PS4 are even in sales, but the Xbox1 total is 19 countries while the PS4 is so far US only.
I’m not sure in which thread you said it Mong, but I definitely think Nintendo might HAVE TO make the U GamePad optional – they won’t have a choice, and they just might do it when the new DK is released in February and they’ll make it a WiiU bundle w/o the GamePad.
There’s certainly a lot of pitfalls to discuss these days.

Noting that the sales are even between Xbone and PS4 is showing the difference in the market strongholds. Xbox only really sells in North America and Britain, so it can be out in 100 countries and the only market they are going to get is going to be North America. Xbox only sold in North America; 360 only sold in North America; Therefore I cannot see the Xbone breaking this trend. Other than that, it is way too early to worry about following this new “console war”, since the holiday rush obscures everything. The first few million are the easiest to move, especially during a holiday rush, and MS and Sony are much better prepared on the manufacturing end this time around.
That said, I have my suspicions that neither of these new systems are going to do all that hot, but right now it is too early. We need data that will not be out until March to get a clear image of what’s going on. But looking at WiiU and March software from 2013 tells a scary story for the game industry. I do not see either new systems bucking the macroeconomic trends. If food, Motion Pictures, energy, and other traditionally stable industries cannot defy the macroeconomics, I have ha hard time believing that videogames will.
We will find out in March…………

WiiU struggling to gather support in UK. I put this down to the vogue in giving tablets & iphones for kids as young as two rather then some brilliant strategy by Sony or Microsoft. Still it is sad to see Nintendo really put against the firing post. I recall the GameCube having more of a presence than the WiiU. Still, I did find time to play a bit while I was in Game, played Mario WiiU and Rayman and they looked & played quite well. Maybe things will get better but not with the pricing of the 2DS which I think is stupidly high. You have a product like the 3DS which is not selling very well so they figure ‘hey, looks like this headache-inducing 3ds crap isn’t working, let’s just go 2D for those who like old-school or youngsters who can have a handheld. Oh but wait, let’s just release it at the same price’ Doh! Btw, the faux VirtuaBoy headache paranoia I don’t believe is a problem myself but the media made such a song and dance about it so it was bound to have an effect on sales.

Well if the gaming industry shut down completely today, I would be fine with that. From the NES to present day consoles, we have more than enough games to finish for a lifetime.I don’t see how games can get any better than they have been anyhow.
I disagree that games have no room for improvement
Storywise, I don’t think games are going to get better than what they have been. Perhaps graphically via virtual reality aka Sword Art Online is the only way games can be improved upon.
