I found two reasons why. First, the upcoming “Bayonetta 2” has a Star Fox alternate costume as unlockable content, and some Twitter users don’t seem to take it well. Under the “Star Fox” trend, they’re saying Nintendo is doing this instead of working on an actual new game in the series.

Which is odd, because the other reason is that they really are making another game in the series, for 2015. It has Shigeru Miyamoto and everything. Myself, I’m not about to say the game won’t succeed. I’ve been fooled twice already by the outcomes of “A Link Between Worlds” and “Mario Kart 8”, and I think now Nintendo is smarter than (Mongunzoo and) I gave them credit for. “Splatoon” and the new “Zelda” gave them a strong showing at E3, so maybe it’s time to start considering them again.

The new Star Fox looks promising. God call, that one!

Zelda is the same shit, different generation. No sword in the trailer, weird anachronistic elements, feminine Link, and now the revelation that the game will not be open world. This is why I cannot stand Aonuma. He clearly knows what we want, which is why the WiiU Zelda trailer looked the way it looked, and then they show us more WW bullshit.

Splatoon has the potential to be HUGE. A new Nintendo IP that look dare I say, FUN. looking forward to that one.

But short of another Wiisports phenomenon, Nintendo will continue their exile. Nothing has changed…

I meant to say “Hyrule Warriors” when talking about the new “Zelda” game, but I forgot that Nintendo showed off two of them at E3. I have higher interest in that one than the non-open-world-after-all main entry.

And why wouldn’t “Splatoon” be another Wiisports phenom? Is it a matter of timing?

Hyrule warriors is fantastic, and on track to eventually oversell WWHD hahahaha!!!!! some things never change! But that said, even the New Zelda footage looks promising with a huge open world, combat focus, and buttery-smooth animation and graphics. It would seem like one of my fears, that of Nintendo not adapting well to HD, has not come to pass. Nintendo seems to have been using last gen to learn how to make good HD games this gen, keeping in mind that the budgets for making a AAA Nintendo game are much cheaper than the budgets for a AAA Sony or MS game. They are now turning a profit with every system sold, and NSMBU has over a 50 percent attach rate despite being a half-assed piece of rotdick.

Splatoon may indeed be a major phenomenon, but we need more information. Single Player? A local multiplayer that features bots? Without these Splatoon goes from a possible phenomenon to collecting dust in a bargain bin for a dollar, like Destiny’s future will be. Why? Because online-only games lose their value the minute the servers go off. It becomes a 60 dollar drink coaster. Nintendo has a reputation for future-proofing it’s software.

I’m surprised but glad they went online multiplayer with this game. I do wish however they included local multiplayer also like Mongunzoo said. This would’ve future proofed this title after the servers are taken offline.

This is a dangerous trend for Nintendo, moreso even than their reskinning franchises. A wn investor hardcore gamers often ask me “why Nintendo”.I like to tell theit is because Nintendo makes wine while many other companies make milk, andthis gets its point across. I HATE wind waker, as do millions of other Zelda fans, but no one claims that the game is not well made. If WW is to your liking then Nintendo has made a game that will last till eternity.

Splatoon begins to get into milk territory. This is not the PC where this type of game can be supported indefinitely. When the server goes the game expires.

I Hope this is not a sign ofthings to come.  BTW no voicechat support either…..
