I just started playing through Lunar 2:Eternal Blue and it’s rather silly that I had never played it before now because I absolutely loved the first one but for some reason or another the sequel eluded me. Has sort of thing this happened to anyone else?

Are you playing the PlayStation remake or the Sega CD original?  The remake is one of my favourite games ever; I like it much better then the original.

Lately, I’ve been playing the games in my signature (SNES ones for review purposes), plus Space Invaders Extreme 2 and Strikers 1945.

Space Invaders Extreme is highly recommended; a great modern update to the classic formula.

Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

The Sega CD version since I had played the original on that format. I read many pros/cons on the differences between the PS & Sega CD versions of them. Seems like they both have their merits. Regardless, the story sucked me right in. I ended up playing it for about 4 hours straight last night. Had all the Sega CD games been made with such quality, it’s fate would have been different. Excellent music score too btw!

I recently discovered a game called The Firemen. I’m really digging the firefighter concept. That wasn’t done too much and it really gives a new twist on the action genre.

Yeah, it’s a pretty fun game. I haven’t finished it yet but I’ve loved what I’ve played so far. That was a Europe/Japan release only correct?

The Firemen is terrific! It is just right in challenge and length and has a very unique concept.

Yes, that’s correct.

Yep, though even if your just after the cart alone, the Euro version is pretty expensive. I too really dig the whole concept of a ‘firefighting’ game so I can recommend an alternative in Jaleco’s take on the genre. I got the Jap version called Fire Fighting however the US version (once again had a title change) and is called The Ignition Factor but shouldn’t be too expensive at all. Perhaps not up to the standard in quality of The Firemen and it’s only single-player but it does a sound job nonetheless.

I purchased the Ignition Factor recently and am looking forward to playing that as well. I beat Sonic Blastman and am just putting the final touches on my review for it. After that, it’s off to The Firemen!

I wonder if all of these fire fighter games were based off of the popularity of the movie Back Draft.

The Saturn also got a fireman game; Burning Rangers, bot there haven’t been any since to my knowledge.

Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

Could be. Or maybe there was a popular Japanese show or movie that sparked the urge to create games around firefighting.

I always wanted to play the fire-fighter Mega CD game Fahrenheit when I was a kid. It was one of those FMV games but with really ott cheesy acting. Awesome stuff!

I recently came across Final Fantasy 4 on the PSP and wish I had tried this many years ago, FF7 turned me away much like OOT I got tired of hearing about it in school and that also made Link to the Past a recent gem I discovered.
