OfflineIt takes a lot for me to geek the fuck out over modern gaming, but this one’s got me going:
If they can deliver a compelling world and great action, this may be my GOTY in 2014.
Exploring the New World on Nintendo Switch. Currently Playing: Zelda BOTW, Octopath Traveler, Sonic Mania, Yoku's Island Express, Mega Man 11. Currently Watching: Marble Hornets, Luther, Black Mirror, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5. Currently Reading: Influence by Robert Cialdini.

OfflineWow, now that’s a surprise! Not counting the abysmal Strider Returns on the Genesis (which was made by US Gold) and the so-so NES game, Strider is batting 1000 when it comes to the cannon games (all two of them, LOL).
What makes this so surprising is that Capcom supposedly doesn’t fully own the rights to Strider Hiryu.
Any word on if this will get a physical retail release?
Also, no Wii U version? Nintendo has to absolutely get on top of this if if wants to compete!
Lastly, I predict a BIG price spike in Strider 2 for the PS1 and possibly the Genesis Strider as well.

OfflineLooks nice. Never been that big on Strider but I’d play that, it looks fun. I take it its just going to be a digital download or perhaps a physical release is considered?
What I find surprising is that Capcom chose to do this with Strider Hiryu and not something more successful in their back catalogue like Mega Man or Ghouls n’Ghosts for example.

OfflineApparently the developer, Double Helix games, has a bit of a spotty track record.
They’re also the folks developing the new Killer Instinct game.
Hopefully they do well with both projects, as obviously both Capcom and Microsoft have faith in their abilities to produce a great product.

OfflineNES version was pretty good, but it was a big departure from the arcade.
The Genesis version was pretty close to arcade perfect for its time.
If you want to get caught up on the series, Strider 2 on the PS1 is the way to go. It comes with Strider 2, plus an arcade perfect port of Strider on a separate disc. The game is pretty pricey though!
