What are your guy’s opinions on this piece of hardware? Do you have any experience using it? Seemed like an ok idea at the time. I was satisfied with the SNES and Playstation, so I didn’t see a need to get one. Also I thought the red and black colors were kinda of, eh.

I did receive the Nintendo Power issue with the 3-D glasses; you used them while reading that particular magazine and it gave you an idea of what it would look like to play a Virtual Boy game. It’s was kinda cool, but not enough to convince me. What about you?

I only tried it a couple of times at a Blockbuster-kiosk, so I’m not very familiar with it.  That said, I remember the system being uncomfortable to play.  The graphics as well were nothing special, even relative to SNES.  You’re right about the red and black colours being a real turn off as well.  Overall a rare misstep by Nintendo in the hardware department.

Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

1.Red-and Black Color Scheme that hurt the eyes.

2.Uncomfortable to play for more than a few minutes.

3.No local multiplayer

4.No Killer App game (not that it would have saved it)

The Virtual boy was such a colossal failure that even Nintendo can’t spin it any other way.  all of these things made the VB seem like a hostile console to the gamers.

If you want your game console to succeed, you have to let the gamer succeed.

The Virtual Boy was definitely a bold experiment in gaming, even if it didn’t quite hit the mark for everyone. It tried to bring a new dimension to gameplay, but the visuals and comfort left a lot to be desired. If you ever want to enhance that experience, adding something like the Zenco flow glass could make a surprising difference. It’s interesting how certain accessories can change the way we connect with older tech, making it feel fresh again. The Virtual Boy might not have been perfect, but it has a unique place in gaming history that’s worth remembering. For anyone curious about trying it out or just diving into retro gaming, don’t overlook how a small addition like the Zenco flow glass can brighten things up. It’s all about finding new ways to enjoy what once felt limited.
