Edit: this forum format is confusing the hell out of me, and i cant do qoute’s properly, but you get it anyway.
Just type in what you want to say first. After that you can edit the person’s quote to just show the part you are replying to. Another key is to look at the “path” just below where you type. Path: P is your words. Path:blockquote » blockquote » p is the part being quoted. You’ll get the hang of it. ![]()

OfflineWell like i said previously, the 3DO is my favourite system, for what it tried to do and achieve technically. It was a ps3 or xbox360 15 years prior.
As for nintendo and its mario franchise etc, i must claim ignorance there. Ive only played maybe 5 mario games ever. I only own All-stars for the Snes, SMW on SFC and i had Mario kart for Snes back in the day. Ive played some other mario game but not many. As for the WII, it never interested me and im doubting it ever will, so i cant speak for the games on that system. I never played N64 either.
I have Asperger's Syndrome, which means i can come across as rigid and overly argumentative. Please try and look past this and contact me if you have a problem with what/how i type. I type and read very literally and use no undertones. Thank you for trying to understand. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A.....r_syndrome

OfflineMy favorite home systems would have to be Dreamcast and PS2 (if only the latter WORKED MORE OFTEN AND HAD LESS DRE’S!). Dreamcast has a small, but good selection of games while PS2 has a boatload of games representing every genre out there, yet the latter’s hardware reliability is just comical. My favorite handhelds are GBA and DS. GBA feels like a portable Super NES and the DS was when Nintendo started to appeal to the expanded audience for the first time since the NES days.

Hey Mark, I love me some Dreamcast and PS2! I have had my PS2 since January 2001. I have never had a problem with it.Dreamcast does have a good selection of titles which opens up even more if you choose to try the Japanese games. I bought the DC-X to play Japanese games.
How did you manage to have your PS2 working for so long? My 1st one (Regular PS2) lasted me about 3 years before breaking down. My 2nd PS2 is going on for 6 years now and now it pretty much doesn’t want to do anything but give out disc read errors.
Other systems I like:
Famicom/NES (I prefer the Famicom since NES has faulty hardware design.)
PC Engine/TG-16 (Very underrated console. IMO, my 2nd favorite console that was made in the 16-bit days.)
Wii (The only current-gen console that I really like.)

OfflineI dunno, maybe a just got lucky with it. I know I take very good care of my machines.
I’m really liking the Wii too. As a matter of fact, I’m thinking of creating a fansite like this one for the Wii, since I haven’t encountered a Wii dedicated fansite yet. The NES is probably my second favorite console of all-time due to all the memories I have playing it as a kid.

There actually is a Wii dedicated fansite! It’s called Nintemple (used to be called Wiiaredeep, but name changed a few years ago). It has a blog, chatroom, forums, and some extras. It’s no Sega-16 nor PCEngineFx, but it’s still worth a visit.

OfflineOther than SNES, I like the Wii and the Nintendo 64. I see the N64 isn’t popular around here, but I like it because it had some really good games, albeit not in the sheer quantity of the SNES. It had Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Banjo-Kazooie, Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, Smash Bros., Star Fox 64, and others. I think the N64 could have been much more successful if it did a few different things. They should have spend more time getting the Disk Drive together. They could also have released some alternate controllers. (Quick sidenote: I think the Wii U can bring in a bunch of people by emphasizing that people can play with the Pro controller for a more traditional experience. Just my opinion.) They also dropped the ball by not releasing EarthBound 64 or a Metroid game. All these faults aside, I still enjoy it.
Currently looking for the following SNES games:
Chrono Trigger
EarthBound
Final Fantasy II (Final Fantasy IV)
Secret of Mana
Illusion of Gaia
Super Castlevania IV
Super Mario RPG
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
TMNT IV
Contra III

OfflineAlso, I feel pretty optimistic about my 3DS. I saw some artwork somewhere for a 3DS game by Monolith. In all likelihood, an original Zelda will be announced at E3 with some other top-notch titles. This should be followed in a few years by Majora’s Mask 3D. If Nintendo can get a couple of third-party developers to give them a chance, I think they can have a true return to the glory days of the NES, SNES, and GameBoy era when they ruled the market.

OfflineTOUGH question.
If I had to pick just one, it’d probably be the PS1. I was big into RPGs at the time and it was fantastic to have so many RPGs readily available (unlike the SNES days where we got quality and scarcity, but not quantity).
My runners up would be:
-Genesis – Something about the 16-bit era just brings back the best memories. Gunstar Heroes, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Shining Force 2, etc. can go toe-to-toe with the best of the SNES library.
-Dreamcast – It was a short run, but the amount of creativity and innovation Sega released in the DC’s lifespan was unprecedented (we haven’t seen anything like it before or since). I’m glad Sega went out with a bang.
Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

OfflineI really love the Nintendo 64, PlayStation 2, and Xbox 360. the 64 was really the first transition into 3d that made me in awe as a kid. playing Mario 64 and other titles like Castlevania in 3 D was awesome.
the PlayStation 2 had a lot of awesome games for in a great library that I think even rivals the Super Nintendo. a great collection of titles for every genre.
the Xbox 360 introduced me to online gaming, it was much more refined than the original Xbox. it was almost like playing on the computer.
Honorable mention goes to the Dreamcast. the console was too far ahead of its time sadly.

OfflineAfter giving some time, I have to say that the 3DS is definitely my favourite handheld system. The remake of OoT, A Link Between Worlds, Kid Icarus Uprising, Animal Crossing:New Leaf and Pokemon Y. That’s not even including the Virtual Console games I purchased, which include Link’s Awakening DX, Metroid, Castlevania, and Mega Man 2. I want to play Bravely Default eventually and I’m looking forward to the release of Smash Bros. Still, it’s second place to the SNES.

OfflineNow, I need some time to properly get to know the PS1. I purchased it a few months ago and I only have Final Fantasy VII for it. I haven’t beaten it yet, but I’m immensely enjoying it. I’m looking to buy some more title for it. I wish I had enough time to play more games, but that might have to wait until I graduate next year.
