OfflineI have two of these videos on my YouTube channel.
The first one I cannot take credit for, since it originally belonged to a guy who managed to get his account suspended. I think he was uploading anime shows and his channel was shut down for copyright infringement. My friend found it on some Spanish language video page, so I snagged it off there and uploaded it to my own channel (I made it clear that it wasn’t mine originally, though). I really like how the guy left the audio alone, since so many of these “100 games in 10 minutes” videos have some techno music that has replaced the original game audio.
I made the second one myself. Many of these games I had suggested to the original guy before his account was removed. I pooled together my collection along with three other friends’ to make the video. Aside from maybe two or three games, these were all recorded from the original SNES hardware from either original cartridges or my friend’s Super Wildcard.
I am about halfway done with a third video, but it is taking time. My friend’s SWC had stopped working for some reason, and he’d bought an Everdrive instead. It was really frustrating trying to load ROMs on that and to get the games to work. This was before I moved back to Japan in January, and I’ve only recently resumed work on the video about a month or two ago. I think I will have to just finish up the video using the emulator on my hacked Xbox.

OfflineJust watched your video Greg and it is really impressive! Must take a lot of time to make this and I can imagine it hadn’t been easy mkst of the time…but fun nevertheless I guess! ![]()
As we are on the topic of Japanese snes games: Can you name 3 (or more) titles from Japanese snes games whe (Us/ Europe) should own and play but we probably never heard of? I’m curious to see which games we have been missing all those years! ![]()

Offline1) Gourmet Sentai Bara Yarou ….. Final Fight meets Cho Aniki in this polished and typically japanese scrolling beat-’em-up.
2) Majyuuou – King of Demons ….. Horror run ‘n gun platformer with fast action and satanic bosses.
3) Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius ….. aka Chatting Parodius, an insane space shooter with tons of action and wacky commentary.
They will cost a fair amount but do fit your criteria of probably never hearing about them but you should definitely play them! They’re worth just looking at on youtube even if that’s all you do.

OfflineTHAT WAS YOU’RE VIDEO!!!!!????!!!!!
I must have watched that one a dozen times…
King of Demons is Incredible!Chatty Parodious is hilariously awesome as well, but as he said they can be pricey in their original format…
WHat is the third game you named off? I seem to have missed out on this one ![]()
To, Might I also Reccomed:
DoReMi Fantasy Milon No Doki Dok: Fantastic platformer on par with Mario.
Jaki Crush: Great pinball game! Better than the TG-16’s crush games and it’s reletively cheap to boot!
Magical Pop’n: Terrific adventure game akin to a morte cutesy and linear version of Metroid.
Umihara Kawase: Must youtube this one to believe…
Exploring the New World on Nintendo Switch. Currently Playing: Zelda BOTW, Octopath Traveler, Sonic Mania, Yoku's Island Express, Mega Man 11. Currently Watching: Marble Hornets, Luther, Black Mirror, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5. Currently Reading: Influence by Robert Cialdini.

OfflineOK, so ignoring Super Famicom games that were later released domestically (Puyo Puyo, Front Mission, Rockman & Forte, Tactics Ogre, Star Ocean, Tales of Phantasia, etc) and games that require Japanese language ability (Treasure of the Ruldras and tons of other RPGs), here are my three recommendations.
Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie. Even if you didn’t grow up watching Robotech, this is a great shmup featuring a transformable mecha, great music, and fantastic graphics.
DoReMi Fantasy: Milon’s Exciting Adventure. This was already mentioned. A cross between Super Mario Brothers and Sonic the Hedgehog, this excellent game doesn’t even compare to the old, crappy Milon’s Secret Castle.
Umihara Kawase. Before we finally memorized the name of this game, my friends and I would call this “the girl with the fishing pole game.” It’s a brilliant puzzle-solving platformer.
I must also agree with Jaki Crush and Oshaberi Parodius. Those are great fun, too. Also worth mentioning are Battle Cross, Ranma 1/2 Ougijanken (a taisen puzzle game featuring rock scissors paper), Super Pinball II, and Daruma Dojo.

OfflineIve seen your video’s many a time greg. Probably influenced me in some of my purchases at some point, you must have vast experience of the snes/sfc.
Not just for greg, anyone can answer these few Q’s and all responses are welcome
I thought it would be a good way of continuing to get to know the members here.
Can I ask if you still buy games for the snes & how many you have? What games in your collection would you consider the centre-pieces as such, if any? Are there any game titles highly desirable or appealing that you don’t own or games on your want list? Most expensive purchase? Best bargain you ever got? Favourite genre of game on snes?

I still collect SNES games. At the beginning of 2012, I had about 10 SNES games. Now I have about 40. The main motivator for my purchases is to re-live a part of my childhood and to be able to do reviews.
My most prized game is a complete copy of Pocky & Rocky 2. There’s still a lot of games I would like to play and own; too many to list. Now that I’m learning more about the Super Famicom, I’m starting to want SFC games.
My most expensive purchase was for the aforementioned Pocky & Rocky 2 for $205. Bargains would have to be the $20 markdowns on games when they were still available at retail.
My favorite genre is the RPG; on any platform. Good questions.

OfflineLets take this one question at a time:
1: Do I still buy for SNES? YES, though not as much as I did when I was stiill actively completing my main list. My purchases are now for A)Prize games that will more than likely go on the wall in a frame
B)Games that I may have missed. They do not have to be complete, but it’s cool if they are.
2)Most Prized Game? Either my copy of R2: Rendering Ranger or my Mario RPG NEW SEALED CIB W/Guide.
3)Most Expensive? See Above.
4)Best Bargains? Earthbound for half the price it was going for at the time (now its even more of a steal!)
5)Favorite Genre: Platformers and RPGs.

I assume you’re asking about Super Famicom games, since this is what the thread topic is about? I have about 110 Super Famicom games, aside from the SNES games I own. I still buy SNES/SFC games. My most-played games have been Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, U.N. Squadron/Area 88, Hyper Iria, Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie, Super Valis 4, and Cybernator/Assault Suits Valken.
My most expensive purchase was probably Doremi Fantasy, which probably cost me about $95 after I paid the shipping charges and commission to the proxy bidding service. My most prized in my collection would be Doremi Fantasy, Kiki Kaikai (Pocky and Rocky), along with the games listed above.
The best bargain I ever got were these games for dirt cheap because they were sold as-is, because the store couldn’t get them to work. They were five games sold as junk and I only paid about 500 yen for them all.
My favorite genre would probably be RPGs. Other favorite genres are platformers, shmups, and SRPGs.

Well yes and no, apologies as it does look vague I admit. Apart from the first and last questions you can assume I’m talking Super Famicom.

Offline1) Absolutely, I buy more games for the SNES now then ever before as it has such an untapped library of games for me. Currently I have around 250 games or there a-bout’s, I will take stock at some point. I think around 200 are SFC and the other 50 are a mix of mostly PAL and some US.
2) Well not exactly but I hold my complete Akumajou Dracula XX in high regard.
3) Quite a lot actually – Wild Gun’s, Gourmet Sentai, SD F-1 Grand Prix, Day Of The Idea and Deae Tonosama Appare Ichiban are just some of the title’s I am after.
4) Most expensive would be the acquisition of Captain Commando CIB – $80 was the damage.
5) Best bargain is tough. I have had a fair few in the past few years, sometimes managing to get stuff for pennies.
6) Fave genre; Action-RPG’s probably but also Platformers.
