The SNES is home to a number of quality strategy games, which one is your all-time favorite?

If you can’t decide on just one you can vote for two – Max. of 2 votes only. Let us know what you voted for & why. Also If you cast one of your votes as Other please state the title of the strategy game you wanted.

Never played any Fire Emblem games sadly. There are some for the Super Famicom I know of including the ltd. edition treasure chest boxed one FE:Thracia I think it’s called. They look interesting but without a translation it’d be pointless me trying to have a go I feel.

SimCity was the only game on the list I tried.  The SNES version was a quality port though!

Another Koei game that some people may have enjoyed is Uncharted Waters (I’ve personally never tried any Koei games!).

Populous is another strategy game that’s really cheap, but again I’ve never tried it.

Lastly, who can forget Lemmings?  I love the game, but never tried the SNES version.

Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

Should have put a vote in for other as well, since I tried SimAnt and enjoyed it.

Yes I wish I could alter the poll to put some of those others in but it can’t be edited. SimCity was and still remains a quality game you’re right about that.

I have SimAnt as well but honestly didn’t think many would even of played it let alone considered it amongst the others so that’s another that regrettably isn’t there. we could see Others winning this by a margin.

Not played Uncharted waters but I enjoy Koei’s offerings though I can see why others wouldn’t. I have Nobunaga’s Ambition: Lord of Darkness, which is set in feudal Japan during the Warring States period. And i have Liberty Or Death, set during the American Revolutionary War. The next one I want is Gemfire which diverts from the historical simulations and takes place in a fictitious medieval/fantasy setting where clans try to unify the Island and claim the throne.

I voted for Metal Marines. Awesome game, nuff said.

I voted for harvest moon. I actually haven’t played any of them but I do recall the later installments being fun and if it’s anything like that I’m sure it’s pretty cool

It’s apparently one of the best. Alas it’s out of my price range unless I want to pay 100-odd for cart only. Sod that!

for some reason I thought that I saw it for cheaper than that. More along the lines of 60 dollars for a cartridge.

I’ve beat SimAnt several times, but it was on PC back in the floppy disc era.  I voted SimCity because I currently own it for SNES and it’s the only one I’ve played.

Currently looking for the following SNES games:

Chrono Trigger

EarthBound

Final Fantasy II (Final Fantasy IV)

Secret of Mana

Illusion of Gaia

Super Castlevania IV

Super Mario RPG

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

 Zombies Ate My Neighbors

TMNT IV

Contra III

It’s still good on the SNES but the cursor is sluggish to move around the screen, especially if your in a spot of bother.

Floppy disc PC era… ah I miss some of those old DOS games you know.

I believe the SNES Harvest Moon was the first in the series.  It was released late into the system’s life, when most of us were to busy enjoying PSX classics such as Battle Arena Toushinden and 2Xtreme to care.  Hindsight is 20/20….

Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

Yeah Harvest Moon came out in 1997 I have it on the Wii but it is so expensive on the SNES now not as bad as Earthbound even though it’s rarer but $70 still is a lot but it’s one of te best in the series I thought.
