OfflineHey everyone! Growing up there weren’t two things I loved more than the SNES and Halloween. This is an article I’ve been wanting to write for several years now, and finally have. Check it out here:

OfflineNice list, Steve! Do you own Deae Tonosama? My friend had this game, cart only. My insistence of buying it complete has prevented me from getting it yet, since along with Kiki Kaikai/Pocky & Rocky 2, it fetches a high price.
Perhaps Cotton 100% is slightly Halloween-y, although not as much as the original Cotton game.

You gave me more ideas for games to research. Thanks. Once I alter my Super Nintendo to play SFC games, I’ll be playing Japanese games like a fiend! ![]()

OfflineThanks Greg. And I wish! I had targeted acquiring Tonosama since 2006, but could never find a copy for a price I was willing to fork. I admit it’s one of the few games I do not own, but rather “settle for” on the SNES PowerPak.
Masamune, it only takes like 5 minutes to alter your SNES. I had such a blast getting into the SFC scene back in 2006. Every couple days I was posting impressions on various retro gaming boards, sharing with the world all these little known, little seen obscure SFC gems. ’06 was a great time, and these games didn’t cost an arm and a leg back then either!

OfflineDeae Tonosama Appare Ichiban is one of my fabled “to get’s”. Chances are if we ever stumble across one we’ll be bidding against each other. It’s one of those games that not many people know of but as soon as they see some youtube footage they’re all over it! Kinda like Gourmet Sentai. Cotton 100% is a high quality shooter. Though slightly short and easier then most shooter’s it still has oodles of charm and delightful moments. It’s just I prefer the insanity that is Parodius.

OfflineYeah, the more I hear about today’s prices the more I’m ever so thankful I got back into the SNES scene early 2006. Back then, you could still find Earthbound cart only for a consistent $40. The prices today are just through the roof, and it makes me glad to know I’m retired from the buying game. Out of the “rat race,” now enjoying my buying retirement and focusing on playing the games I bought 6 years ago, lol.
Speaking of buying, no worries about “friendly fire” GhostSweeper. I am content having Tonosama on the PowerPak. I own 98% of the games on my PowerPak, aside from Tonosama and Zen Nippon Pro Wrestling: Budokan (super hard to find). That alone IMHO made the PowerPak a worthwhile investment. That, and it’s so convenient to bring to a friend’s house instead of lugging around 20-30 games you might want to play over the weekend, lol. So yeah, if Tonosama comes up cheap on eBay or whatever, you most likely won’t have to worry about me bidding on it.

Yes, I told you about it lol. The game tags itself as a Psychic Horror RPG and the story while pretty terrible only gets more gruesome.
I genuinely like the heresy of this game – there is no way in hell this would of ever made it to the EU or US at the time. The settings, the horror, the characters and npc’s, the enemies – it’s almost fantasy that this came out for the SNES/SFC. If you can find a translated version of this in the future you should pick this up…. if you dare…
