OfflineI’ll throw a few different genres at you!
Adventure: Dragon View – very unique game engine. Also, Soul Blazer.
Fighting: Weaponlord – A little bit slow, but maybe the deepest fighter on the system
Beat’em-up: Yeah, Super DD is pretty solid here. Brawl Brothers is fun, too!
RPG: Robotrek!
Dang, I’m tired. More later!

OfflineNintendo’s SNES puzzle games are great and thankfully are still pretty cheap. Tetris Attack and Tetris and Dr. Mario are the best of the bunch, though I have a fondness for Wario’s Woods as well (it’s a bit of an acquired taste).
Arkanoid: D’oh it Again is another great puzzle / arcade style game that is quite cheap. Lots of content for the price.
Batman Returns and X-Men Mutant Apocalypse are great licensed beat ’em ups by Konami and Capcom respectively. You should be able to find both for around $10 to $15.
If you’re into shmups, check out Gradius III and UN Squadron. Both games are pretty well known, so I don’t know if they count as hidden gems, but both are great and inexpensive ($10 to $15). If you don’t mind importing, Pop’n Twinbee is an amazing two player Konami shmup that is very import friendly (menus are in English, etc.)
Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

OfflineI’m not sure what games compose your collection but here are a few ideas :
- King Arthur’s World : If you liked Lemmings, this might be for you. I recommend using a SNES mouse though. This game is also dirt cheap.
- Ninja Warriors : Getting a bit pricy but I cannot recommend this game enough! It’s a beat ’em up with awesome music. Try Mighty Morphin Power Rangers if the game is too expensive, its very very similar but the gameplay is more simple, although it has more platforming bits.
- GS Mikami (SFC) : Very good platformer / beat ’em up. Similar to Ninja Warriors and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (same developper) but you can use long-ranged special attacks and has many more platforming stages.
- Sanrio World Smash Ball (SFC) : Very fun little game. Feels a lot like playing air hockey.
- Super Puyo Puyo (SFC) : Awesome puzzle game.
Not entirely sure just how ”hidden” are these titltes though. :p

OfflineI’ll throw a few out.
- Godzilla Kaijuu Daikessen (SFC) ~ A one-on-one fighter in the ‘SFII mould’ featuring iconic monsters from the Godzilla franchise.
- King Of Dragons (All) ~ Scrolling beat ’em up in a classic D&D-inspired fantasy setting.
- Gunman’s Proof (SFC) ~ Blatant Zelda:LttP clone set in Old West world map. More action/arcade feel to it and lighter on the rpg side means its highly playable even if you can’t read Japanese.
- Goemon 2 (SFC) ~ Mystical Ninja returns in this all-action platformer with all the oriental atmosphere of the original.
- Metal Marines (All) ~ A unique and addictive turn-based strategy game in a futuristic vision of war for global domination. I consider this a hidden gem and imo it doesn’t get the recognition it deserves.
Another approach is to look at the unreviewed North American SNES games list here.
Look up titles on Youtube that sound interesting and see what they are about. If you like what you see in the videos, look and see if you can get them at a reasonable price.
