Objectively speaking, which is better?

The SNES and Super Gameboy have the nostalgia factor, plus a lot of great games you can’t get on the Gamecube / Gameboy Player combo (Super Metroid, Castlevania IV, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, etc.)

On the other hand, the Gameboy Player has a lot of the SNES classics (Yoshi’s Island, Final Fantasy games, Super Mario World, etc.) plus some great 2D exclusives (Metroid Zero Mission).  This is in addition to having the Cube’s library as well (which isn’t as strong as the SNES’ and arguably not as strong as the GBA’s as well).

So putting nostalgia aside, what do you think is the better combo?[sp_show_poll id=”20″]

Since I honestly cannot STAND most of the GC library, and since many of the GBA versions of SNES classics have issues (Link’s voice in ALTTP)  I have to say that’s an easy choice.

Plus if you look at the SFC library (not playable on GBP) and the hidden gems that did not get re-makes, it becomes even more easy.

It’s a close call for me, but I’m giving the edge to the GC / GBP.  The Cube’s library has its issues, but I did enjoy a lot of its games (Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Skies of Arcadia, Resident Evil 4, etc.).

One of the factors that makes me lean towards the GC / GBP is the Wavebird; I much prefer using wireless controllers.

A big knock against the GBA side of things is the notorious short battery life, plus the large amount of bootleg games floating around out there.

The wave bird was excellent. I actually have one lying around right now.

The Gameboy player on the Gamecube itself is better then the Super Gameboy. But the SNES is much better then the Gamecube, but I still don’t think people give the Gamecube any respect I really liked the Gamecube much more then the N64.

GC was a big step up from the N64.  What sets SNES apart from other Nintendo consoles is the amazing third party support.
