OfflineThat’s the first time I’ve seen anything like it. The speedruns I’m familiar with are about working around game design and using glitches, but rewriting code is a whole other kettle of fish to me.
Masa, is there anything you prefer in a speedrun? I can mean either tactics or what game is being played.

OfflineI like the speedruns that don’t use computer assistance to beat the game. I prefer the ones that work around the original game structure and use whatever glitches or shortcuts the game designers released the game with.
Not that I am really in the speedrun scene anyway, I prefer to savor my gameplaying sessions as if they were fine wine.

OfflineIt’s not quite the same category as speed runs, but I’ve found myself playing a sports game for the 10000000th time and trying to score the most points in as short a game as possible. If I’m playing Jam I usually try to get over a 100 and keep the CPU under 10.
In the video above, the gamer gets a record in Tecmo Super Bowl (NES), but he changes the other team’s playbook to make it easy to score. Still entertaining to watch though.
