My brother and I have been throwing down on Super Tennis as of late. Super Tennis is one of the five original games we were given with our system, so we are reliving some treasured moments indeed.
A review for Super Tennis is in the works. I hope everyone has enjoyed the other sports titles I’ve covered, and that they’ve been relatable to even those who don’t generally get into sports games.

You’re doing a review on Terranigma?! Can’t wait to see that! It’s a pretty big game for that time (40 hours) with a great story from what I’ve seen.so.far. How do you play it? You got a convertor to play the PAL version or…and I don’t know if I can say this word out load : rom
Looking forward to it and thanks for all the wonderful reviews you’ve written so far!!
Super Tennis seems fun to me. I do like tennis.games.but somehow I never got to play this one. Maybe I should.pick.it up since it’s only a few dollars on ebay. Your review will be much appreciared!

Yes it is
I am loving sunset riders. It has a Gun. Smoke. meets contra feel to it, and I am very much liking it.
Length is not really an issue for me. Part of the appeal of the 16-bit generation is that there are many games on these systems that are not huge time-sinks. In this day and age people are busy and we do not have time for maintaining our “leaderboard presence and prestige” on COD or a ten to 40 hour campaign mode. It took me forever to get through Secret of Mana in order to write that review.
Sunset riders did not have that problem!

^ That’s so true about the 16-bit games not taking up a whole lot of your time, other than RPGs really. Isn’t Terranigma awesome? I beat it during Thanksgiving break 2010 (whoa, two years ago) and absolutely adored it.
Right now I’m playing Earthbound… and loving it. It’s quirky, great sense of humor and it just clicks for me. LOVE IT.
On the side, I’ve been playing competitive Bust-A-Move with my friend. She’s getting better, I used to own her like 80/20. Then it became 65/35… and last we played, it ended up 50/50. She’s catching on… lol

Oh how I envy you Steve! I had the opportunity to play just a little bit of eart
hbound on a console with adapter and it was really fantastic! It really grabs you and won’t let go… it’s in my mind ever since. I see Mongunzoo just wrote a wonderful review that really describes the feelings I had with this game. Even though I only played so little of it so far.
Bust-a-move! Haha I do like that game for sure. Girls are pretty good at those puzzle games once they get into it, so you better prepare!

Playing Yoshi’s Island at the moment and yes it’s my first time! What a gorgeous game this is and very innovative indeed! I saw a video of someone complaining that this was the easiest game ever. I find it not thát easy and I think he missed the point of the game which is exploroling. Not running through it and finishing as fast as possible. Got it with a crisp box and manual, I am a happy man

I’ve not played Sonic Blast Man or it’s sequel, there just two the scrolling fighter’s that I don’t own (yet). Read mainly negative reviews from Super Play, but that’s not unusual. As much as I like SP magazine they along with most mags of that era were always very critical of that genre after the first Final Fight was released. I myself do like the scrolling fighters and have done since playing Streets of Rage on the Master System when I was a nipper. They look okay, I think I remember reading somewhere that SBM2 has the good mini-game or interlude sections missing that made the first one that little bit more interesting to play through. Could be wrong though so don’t quote me on that.
Today I got the old Super Game Boy out and played a few games of Revenge of the ‘Gator pinball. It’s a helluva good game for GB game, the physics of the actual ball is spot on and the table seems massive as it’s split into lots of sections that the screens scrolls through as you enter each part. It might sound like it shouldn’t work but for some reason it does and it works very well. There’s lots to do and unlock, including an array of hidden mini-game sections. The music is exceptional and fits the swamp/alligator theme of the table perfectly. I guess you could say I like it quite a bit, worth checking out if you want a cheap GB title.
Might also start a new file on Link’s Awakening and try and finish it by this w/end – if I get time.

Currently playing:
Gungriffon Blaze (PS2): An awesome, arcady mech game. There isn’t a lot of levels (around 6, and that includes the tutorial level), but the gameplay is tight. Each level has a different main objective such as destroying a Space Shuttle in one as well as defending your troops in another. The controls are a bit weird. You have to use the right control stick instead of the left to move and use the left stick instead of the right to look around. Other than that, the controls work perfectly. The enviroments are for the most part destructible, you can’t destroy trees, but you can destroy any building or structure in the game.

Aerobiz sure looks interesting, another typical Koei game that id find amusement in no doubt.
I’ve been hitting the SNES pretty hard these last few nights. Completed Mario Bros. 1, 2, 3 and got up to world 9 on Lost Levels (how far does it go?). Just about finished Super Mario World and also been playing Super Mario Kart. What can I say, I’ve got Mario Madness!
Need to get a working Super Scope and get Yoshi’s Safari next.

Coldfusion, did you check out the 20th anniversary article / video on NHL ’94 at NHL.com? It’s really cool that so many current pros grew up playing that game.
Ghost, that sounds like an awesome Mario marathon. Well done on the Lost Levels. Can’t say how far it goes; you;ve made it farther then I ever did.
I’ve been playing through Illusion of Gaia and playing the R-Type games (Super R-Type and R-Type III) when I need a break.
Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

The best thing was playing it through with someone else. If I’m honest I don’t think I’d of bothered with a couple of them and just gone straight for number 3 like I usually do when I get All-Stars out but yeah it was great fun. Lost Levels is good and not as hard as people make out. I think it comes down to the fact that when your young your just not as good at games so I couldn’t get very far in it as a kid but nowadays it’s pretty challenging but enjoyable to play, plus there’s loads of levels to go through that I never did back then.
Earlier today I had a quick blast on Super Mario Land, played it on my GBA.
R-Type III is supposed to be really good. Can’t say I like shooters that much but I’d get it to complement my meager offerings of the Parodius trilogy and Pop N’Twinbee. What do you think of it Rush? Does it have a lot of lag/slowdown?
