With the recent HD remakes of Duck Tales and Castle of Illusion, it’s pretty clear that Disney is open to allowing their old games to be remade.

With that said, what SNES Disney game deserves the HD treatment?

My vote goes to Goof Troop.  The game is great fun in multiplayer, though it can be challenging to find someone to play couch co-op with as an adult.  Adding online multiplayer and some extra “challenge rooms” would make for a great package.

Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

The Magical Quest games could use a remake.

Y’know I would really like to see Mickey-mania redone in HD with the controls and gameplay tweaked. I heard the Sega CD version was a good game, so the potential was there.

If anything, the game would look absolutely stunning in HD.

I like the idea of Mickey Mania getting a HD re-vamp, so long as its done well. I used to have the Megadrive version and while it looks the bomb it’s one of those platformers that’s not hard – just v.unfair due to abysmal collision detection.

I know this post is about SNES remakes, but I wanted to voice my opinion that Rescue Rangers 2 and Ducktales 2 should be re-made in HD glory. Those two games should of came out on the SNES anyway with how late they were released in the NES active life cycle.

But they have to re-do the DuckTales 2 music. It’s was totally forgettable.

Aladdin would be fun to see, maybe not that up to date for today’s audience but the game is pretty decent I think.

Rescue Rangers and Duck Tales for sure! I only have the first of those two and I think they are really good. Are the sequels that much better? Haven’t played them unfortunately.

I have heard that Ducktales 2 and Rescue Rangers 2 weren’t as good as the originals. I listened to some of the music of Ducktales 2 on Youtube, and it was totally generic and uninspiring. If someone does do a HD remake of DuckTales 2, they would have to make a new soundtrack.

Having played the Duck Tales HD remake 99% through, I can attest that the music is redone tremendously. Capcom really brought out what made the level music special, and it’s as if extra attention was given to the Moon Theme to shine even brighter than the others. The only disappointing aspect was the tune made for the brand new level, which only appears in the remake. That was generic, but the rest was grand.

I just heard the music and it is indeed not bad but just as you said: uninspiring

Good to know the’ve changed that in the remake!

That sounds like a great idea; I’d definitely buy that.
