Is anyone here an anime nut like myself? I’m currently watching an anime named Kanon. It’s about a high schooler who re-visits the town where his cousin lives. He meets a lot of strange personalities that he may have met before when he was a little boy.

A decent anime, but I’ve seen dozens of others too. Who else watches them?

I like animé and manga. But im pretty selective and i havent really read anything younger than maybe 15 years, so im not really up to date. But Dragon Ball, Urotsukidöji, Ramna 1/2 and Gunnm are my absolute favourites. Other good ones are Appleseed, Mother earth (i think thats what it was called) and Patlabor. I tend to go for sci-fi themes.

I have Asperger's Syndrome, which means i can come across as rigid and overly argumentative. Please try and look past this and contact me if you have a problem with what/how i type. I type and read very literally and use no undertones. Thank you for trying to understand. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A.....r_syndrome

I was REALLY big into it back in the late 90’s to early 2000’s but sold off my entire collection years ago. Still have a few favorites I watch now and then such as Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion etc. I just recently started watching Afro Samurai and I’m enjoying that and I picked up Samurai Champloo but haven’t got around to watching it yet. Yeah I know I’m WAY behind!! LOL! The Blu-ray Evangelion movies are extremely well done I must say. Unfortunately they are taking their sweet time churning them out.

Not a fanboy, just a gamer...every system has its gems!!

I like the Studio Ghibli stuff by Mayao Hiyazaki. I have ten or so, some of my faves are Howls Moving Castle, Laputa and Porco Rosso. I have the StreetFighterII animé and the lame SFAlpha one too. Ive seen Patlabor, Appleseed and Ghost in the Shell years ago when i was too young to know wtf was going on but recently picked up the new version of Appleseed so i’ll see what its like. The main franchise i have is Guyver. I know its corny and stuff but i totally can’t get enough of it. Also Richard Guyot is an awesome villain. My bro used to all the data videos, one episode on each vid. Back then you had to pay for each 20-25min episode laugh So glad i have it on dvds now. Anyway check Guyver out.

Cowboy Bebop, Gundam Wing, Samurai Champloo, and the Street Fighter movie were among my favorites. I watched Princess Mononoke with my parents once; you should have seen their faces. They looked like children watching a show. I never seen their eyes look that way before. Amazing. Studio Ghibli does wonderful work that touches people of all ages.

Also, I recommend the Fatal Fury movies if you haven’t seen them. Good films.

Been watching the original Star Trek animated series on dvd. Its actually quite good, massively exceeded my expectations. I like how they used the original cast for the voices. Impressed with the storylines especially, some are exceptional, theres just so much you couldn’t do with live-acting, back then and even now.  http://en.wikipedia.or/wiki/St…..ted_series

Never heard of the animated series before. Rare that they were able to use the original actors as well. Your link is broken.

Ahh so it is, apologies. Oh well never mind, folks can find all sorts about it from other sources anyway.

Yeah the original cast’s voices make it highly watchable. Apparently it didn’t garner quite the reception it wanted, although praised by critics the actual demograph of people it was aimed at (kids) wern’t exactly buzzing about it. However the popularity amoungst young adults and grown-up’s made the series pretty successful and it made three series before ending. I have to agree, when i watch it now there is little in the script to suggest this should be for kids, even back then when cartoons wern’t so condescending in approach. I think thats why im enjoying it so much – it seems better then the actual series!

One of my all-time favorites would be Spirited Away, a absolute classic. I know most of you will of heard of it but I though it was worth mentioning.

Tales From Earthsea is another great Studio Ghibli film.

I absolutely love Spirited Away. There something magical about the Studio Ghibli films, isn’t it? I’ll have to look up Tales From Earthsea.

Spited Away is one of those films I could quite easily watch again and again. Such a special film, expertly written with moments I can remember with fondness.

I don’t watch too much anime. Though I do like Gundam Wing, all the Yu-Gi-Oh! series (except for GX since I haven’t watched much of it yet), Cowboy Bebop, and a few others I can’t remember at the moment.

I’m currently watching the subbed version of Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal (Latest Yu-Gi-Oh! series) and although it starts out slow, it gets really good later on.

Not really anime as such but I highly recommend watching Daria, the old MTV show. Just watching them again on Viva and it’s so awesome. I love the 90’s grunge music from Splendora at the start and end of each episode. La la la la la…..

I just read Ashen Victor again, a spin off from Battle Angel Alita. Its about a motorball player thats being played by the management.. Its really good and i recommend it to anyone who likes Battle Angel Alita.. It is a bit darker than BAA though.

^I love this picture.  It’s kinda funny because I have three cousins that are sisters and they watched more Dragon Ball Z that I did.  They still do, as a matter of fact.

Ha, I quit watching it in my teen years.. But I always wanted the whole collection on dvd… I really thought the series was always solid, I even liked the animated movies they had.. Such an interesting universe, but a lot of anime fans look down upon DBZ

Well, since I last replied I watched the entirety of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z uncut.  I really enjoyed them. Admittedly, they had a bunch of filler, but they were being released concurrently with the manga at one point and they couldn’t get ahead of Toriyama.  I also watched all of the episodes of Attack of Titan that have been released and I’m totally hooked.  As for movies, I finally watched Akira and Grave of the Fireflies last week and I was thoroughly impressed with both of them.  Currently, I’m watching Space Dandy on Toonami.
