In college, I had to learn how to cook for myself when I moved off-campus. There were really only two choices: Learn to cook or eat fast food and insta-noodles everyday. I decided the former.
Here’s a very good recipe blog I came across: http://smittenkitchen.com/ There are a few things I’m going to try off of there. Just thought I’d share for anyone else who is interested.

Wouldn’t you know it, so do I. My grandparents have these cookbooks I liked to read, and I also liked trying stuff out with the ingredients in our refrigerator and spice cabinet between late-high school and my freshman year of college. About a month ago, I invented my own meatball recipe; I’ll share it if anyone’s interested.

I’m currently in a Prostart class at my school. Last thing my group made was chocolate mousse (it was great!) Now, we are making strawberry parfaits.

I once tried to cook spaghetti in my cooking class, but it didn’t turn out very well and came off as tasteless. I might try it again eventually, however.
