OfflineI’m traveling to China next month for a business project that’s going to last about three weeks. I need to stay connected with my team back home through our usual communication tools and also access certain websites for research and documentation. The problem is I just found out that a lot of the sites and services I rely on daily are blocked there. I’m talking about Google services, some social media platforms, and a few project management tools we use. I can’t afford to be cut off from these resources for three weeks straight. What are my options for accessing blocked websites while I’m there?

OfflineYou could try using the Tor browser, it routes your traffic through multiple nodes to hide your location. Another option is changing your DNS settings to public DNS servers like Google or Cloudflare, sometimes that works for basic blocks. There are also browser extensions that can help reroute your connection, though their effectiveness varies depending on the type of blocking used.

OfflineDifferent methods work for different types of blocks, and some solutions are more reliable than others. Tor is slow and many sites block it outright, DNS changes only work for basic restrictions. For consistent access without complicated setups, you can use a free web proxy site online https://gologin.com/free-web-proxy/ . A proxy routes your browser traffic through a different server, making it appear you’re accessing from another location. This works directly in your browser without installing anything, and handles most common blocking mechanisms that prevent access to restricted sites.
