OfflineThe Art of War is one of my big three, RushDawg. The other two being the afore-mentioned Prince and The Wealth of Nation by Adam Smith.
Three works that are still the basis for our political, economic, and military thinking. Three books that EVERYONE SHOULD READ at least once! There is no one who can’t benefit from them.
Kanto, please fill me in on whatever this adaptation is. I liked Under The Dome.

I’m not much of a reader of books anymore myself, though I have a growing collection of books I want to read such as the Grimm’s Complete Fairy Tales. American Psycho, The Art of War, Les Miserables, among others.
The last five books I read completely were actually:
The Horse and His Boy
Prince Caspian
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Silver Chair
The Last Battle
All of those books are from the Chronicles of Narnia collection. One of the few series of books I read more than once.

OfflineTalking about books?! I love this site!!!
Looks like we have a lot of readers of the classics, as well as some Stephen King. The only book I’ve read by King are On Writing, a book on–you guessed it–the craft or writing, and The Eye of the Dragon, a fairy tale.
I realize I’ve been starting a lot of books but not finishing them recently. I’ve also been listening to more books on tape than reading them. But here my list of last 5 read books:
Midnight Over Santafrax, Paul Stewart & Chris Riddell
The Secret Baseball Challenge, Jerry B. Jenkins
The Dangerous Canoe Race, Lee Roddy
The Compound, S.A. Bodeen
The Girl Who Played With Fire, Stieg Larsson

OfflineLast five books? My list has more than five, but that’s not relevant.
Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe
Casino Royale and You Only Live Twice by Ian Fleming
Animal Farm by George Orwell
American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis (hands down the worst book I’ve ever read – grossly violent and awfully structured)
Dave Barry’s Greatest Hits
Batman: The Killing Joke by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland.

It’s really good. Okonkwo, the main character, he’s this really fascinating study of masculinity and the furious desire to maintain tradition. He’s a jerk, but that’s because life was very harsh to him, and so he’s a product of his environment.

OfflineExcellent1 I look forward to reading it!
On the subject of international Literature, You might try Hopscotch by Julio Cortazar. It is fascinating and there are many ways to read and interpret it since you can skip or read chapters out of order, thus arriving at different interpretations. Overall I view it as a study of order vs. chaos and how a person is shaped based on his experiences with these themes over the course of life.

3. Chaos Engine Trilogy Book 2: X-Men/Magneto by Steven A. Roman

OfflineI enjoy reading too.
My last five books were:
1.Meditations by Marcus Aurelius
2.2001 A Space Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke
3. The Poorhouse Fair by John Updike
4. Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse and
5. Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio by Pu Song Ling
The Meditations by Marcus Aurelius were very insightful. You can think of it as a self-help book.

OfflineYour reading list is quite diverse! I appreciate how it spans different genres and eras, from Grizzard’s humor to Steinbeck’s powerful narratives. It reminds me of the various experiences we encounter in life, much like the results of the rice purity test. Each book adds a unique layer to our understanding of the world, just as every experience shapes who we are. Happy reading!
