Topic RSSMadden dominated the 16-bit pro football video game scene. Not much has changed it seems. Aside from Madden, there were loads of other football games available for the Super Nintendo. If you wanted a football game, more than likely you hedged your bets and went for Madden.
There were some other games however that brought something fresh to the table and wasn’t half bad either. Check out the review for NFL Quarterback Club here.

OfflineWe were really spoiled in the variety of football games we had to choose from back then. We had games from Tecmo, EA, Acclaim, Capcom and even Nintendo on the SNES. There was even more variety on the Genesis.
Back then, EA made a name for the Madden franchise not by buying up the exclusive rights to the NFL license, but by putting out a great product.
Great review of NFL Quarterback Club. I’m glad that SNES Hub has a “sports guy”. So many sports games are dirt cheap and are usually passed over on the assumption that they’re all bad. These reviews are really helpful to sort out the good games from the bad.
Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

OfflineJr. is the most important reviewer the site has for this very reason. It gives the hub a unique feature since NO ONE in the SNES community is giving these games an in-depth, let alone explaining why they are still worth playing in comparison to their modern counterparts.
The bottom line is that these games are DIRT CHEAP and accessible in a way that most modern sports games (excluding Wii sports)can never be.
Keep it up, Jr!
