This site is beautiful and very well constructed. It has a vivid homepage that perfectly discribes what this site is about. That is why I registered here. I don’t register often but what did it to me was that even though the site is very new and has a select group of members you all seem to really LOVE this system. And that’s what I want: to share idea’s , talks, laughs with people who feel the same.

That brings me to the topic’s title: Google.

I had a hard time finding this website, and I stumbled upon it by accident. I feel the site deserves a lot more and should be easy to find in Google, which is the search engine I and many other people use. Maybe there’s something to be done.

However, I’d rather chat with a select group of Snes affiniado’s than a bunch of people who don’t really care that much about the system. But still it would be a good thing if the site would be easier to find.

Thanks for making a post in the suggestion section. I’m always looking for ideas to make this a better place.

Driving more traffic to this site is one of my biggest tasks right now. Having my site in Google is very important. I thought I had taken care of that already.

Tom, when you used Google to search, what keywords did you use?

When I type in Super Nintendo fansite or SNES fansite or Super NES fansite, this website appears on the first page. Is anyone getting anything different?

Build a quality product and they will come.

This website is quality and with time many will come.  But it will be slow.  SNESCentral took years to get to a point where he has 500 hits a day.  I am sure Kikko can also attest to this!  My own original effort ran for almost a year, and at the end of that I only had around 50-70 loyal readers.

These things take time on their own…But that is where marketing comes into play.  While a product that is quality will grow on its own, who wants to wait?  We have the product, now we just need the marketing…

But lets move this discussion to the traffic flow thread…laugh

Or just stop looking at this website as a “product” to “sell” and just let people who are interested find it.. Get it on google like you have and those who want to will come. A small group is not worse or better than a large group.

laughAgreed.  Completely agreed.  Look at the community we have gathered through Interest alone!  Myself, Masa, Grimm, TK, GS, WildLife, Kikko, and Tom are more than enough for a great diuscussion and atmosphere.

There are problems that arise when something gets too big before its time, and one of those problems could be the loss of this sense of community.  Look at the Clanofthe Graywolf forums for what this could turn into.

I am inclined to let this site grow natually.  But I do not own this website.  If Masa want to draw numbers in here I can do it for him.  I already have a plan.

But as  said, these things take time.  Nothing wrong with slow growth.  Its been good to us thus far.

I have it set up where you can only edit your post when no one has made a reply after you. I don’t want people trying to change their statement once they realize they were wrong in a debate.

Hi guys! On vacation right now 🙂 internet on my phone isn’t that fast here. I guess I tried the wrong words. I used “snes reviews” and others I can’t remember very well at the moment but I tried the ones you said and the site is indeed on the first page(!) as Grimm stated. So that’s great! Posting link in signature is also a good way indeed. I looked at the few other sites but this one looks by far the most iinteresting and fun. I also think that in time more people will join. In the meantime, I realise I can learn so much from you all here already and hope to be a part of that 🙂

Yeah I think we are covered with Google. If someone searches Super Nintendo fansite or a review for a game we have, it’ll show up on the first or second page of Google. It’ll take time, but this site will get more visitors and new members in the future!
