It’s not my particular interest, sports games being my niche and all, but what would someone think about doing an article concerning rare games (as opposed to common)? This ought to eventually be given its due.

So who are the knowledgeable collectors among us?

Like how do you mean? Collecting rare games? A roundup of good rare games? Rare games to stay far away from?

Mongunzoo would be a good candidate for this, but he hasn’t been around for awhile.

I believe I goofed by including this proposal in the Review Pipeline. Masa, would it be possible to make this proposal its own thread?

At first I was thinking “rare” as in “fewest copies in existence,” but now I realize there are several ways gamers can appreciate a game for its rarity.

One N64 site I saw divided their ‘collector’s’ catalog into 4 categories:

1) Rare + Expensive

2) Rare + Inexpensive

3) Not Rare + Inexpensive

4) Not Rare + Expensive

Then, of course, there is the matter of which of these games are worth a damn as far as gameplay!

Any or all of these would be interesting to read about regarding the SNES library.

Personally, I’d be most interested in hearing about the “Holy Grail 1%,” that is, the 7 games from the SNES catalog that rank highest in the combined categories fewest copies, most expensive, and best gameplay.
