In March of 2013, Grimm put together a great article on the SNES retro bit, a wireless SNES controller.
Having recently picked up a USB snes controller (not sure of the brand off the top of my head), I’m wondering if that could also be a good article idea.
Has anyone ever used a SNES usb controller? What have been your takeaways?

I have had 1 USB SNES controller and it sucked. It was called ”retrolink”. The build quality was poor and the d-pad was aweful : If you clicked right or left, it would often go up instead, etc.
A better alternative would be to buy a USB controller ADAPTER and plug your own SNES controller into it.

I believe mine is a retrolink, too. The build looks similarly poor to what you describe, Antarch. I’ll be trying it out within the next few days.
Perhaps that would make a good article: usb controller vs. usb adapter.
