OfflineI think the N64 is surging in popularity over the ps1 because many of the people that are my age were kids during the ps1 days and the N64 had more kids games and the ps1 would appeal to the kids of the NES days as it was a more grown up system like the PS2 would end up being. I think I never latched on to the N64 because during the critical kid years I had my SNES and I didn’t jump on the N64 bandwagon till 1999. I think in 5 years we might see a popularity surge in the Gamecube because the teens of today will be in their 20s and they’re going to remember the Gamecube instead of the PS2. It seems this will continue many kids with NES were teens with Genesis, kids with SNES were teens with PS1, kids with N64 were teens with PS2.

OfflineI agree with that theory Hector. My own feelings are that N64 followed by GC stuff will go the same way as the SNES though possibly not to the same levels of price with regards to GameCube software due to Nintendo getting rid of cardboard boxes by then. From what I can tell the N64 market is already picking up and the GC isn’t far behind. Nintendo stuff is always worth hanging on to, especially anything Mario, Zelda, DK. And aside from them anything by companies Konami or Capcom is usually gonna be worth a few bob.

OfflineNintendo games have a timeless quality to them. Hence why folks are getting nostalgic for the Cube, even though the PS2 was by far the better selling console of its time.
In 10 or so years, get ready for a whole bunch of 20-somethings to get nostalgic for the Wii. Now would be a good time to stock up on Wii games actually.
Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown
