Hi. Im working on a review of the Retro-Bit 2.4 ghz RF controllers i got quite a while ago. My snes collection of games is pretty narrow however. Masamune helped me out with Street Fighter 2 Turbo a while back, which resulted in a review for that game, and he let me keep it which is much apriciated.

Anyway, i have worked with these controllers with games known for great and responsive controls, such as SF2 Turbo, Mario platformers, and some RPG’s, but i do not have any racing games on the SNES what so ever, nor do i have any sports games. So im wondering if anyone here, who has loose dublicates could lend, donate or sell me a couple of games at a reasonable price, to finish off my review? Im mainly looking for mario kart or maybe f-zero or something similar, and a good sports game, like maybe a EA NHL or NFL game. Reason why i ask here is i dont have a pal system i can use right now, so trying to find some here in sweden is pointless at the moment, and ebay is just ridiculous when it comes to some games. They either overcharge as usual, or they make up for it in shipping costs. So let me know if you can help out. It needs to be a game known for good controls, as im reviewing the controller and not the game itself (or maybe i will in a later review). Id only need the naked cartridge and it can be as beat up and poor condition as is humanly possible as long as it works. Im willing to pay for shipping, and a reasonable price on the cart itself if you want to sell it to me. I would pay all shipping if its lent to me.

Hope you guys can help, as ive yet to find any reviews on this, and it could be a draw for the website if we got one up reasonably soon.

I’d love to send you NHL 94 or NBA Jam–or both–for your article. NHL 94 isn’t my favorite, nonetheless it’s legendary in the sports game world (check out nhl94.com). NBA Jam is also a classic. I wouldn’t need either of them back. I am doing a hockey review later this month, but I’ve decided to go with NHL Stanley Cup instead of NHL 94.

Unfortunately, I don’t own F-Zero or Mario Kart, despite the latter being one of my faves on the system.

I have several NFL games with good controls: Madden 93, Capcom MVP Football and Tecmo Super Bowl.

Let me know if I can help.

How about NHL, NBA and Madden? Ill pay for shipping, and if you want some compensation for the carts, let me know. Those games would pretty much cover all types of sport games controls i can think of, and could also be the basis for some sport games reviews from me in the future. So those three carts would be a great help from you indeed.

For everyone else, still looking for a racing game with acclaimed controls, does NOT have to be an A title, such as mario kart or f-zero, it was just what came to my mind when thinking racing games on the system. Could be a horrible game overall, as long as the controls arent to blame.

I also found out these controllers will not work on the vast majority of PAL units, so PAL games is out of the question regardless of if i get a PAL snes or not. (though there is an easy fix if you are handy with a soldering iron, this will be covered in the upcoming review)

Can you do the review of the controller without the racing game? I don’t think anyone here has a racing game to give.

Im waiting for a reply on shipping costs of a new in box f-zero i found cheap on ebay.. I would prefer to have at least one racing game to test with. Ive had some issues with sensitivity in SMW, i want to see if this is the case in a racing game too, or if mario is just super touchy.. I have a hard time distinguishing the wireless from an original snes controller.

I was aiming for the review to be done in january sometime.

I’ll send over all three. No need for cart compensation, but I’ll let you know the shipping in a message. Could you message me your address?

BTW apologies for the week-long absence.

Your sports carts are on the way: Madden 98, NHL 94 & NBA Jam.

Thanks, much appreciated. Madden 98 instead of 93? Not bad. Ive already begun thouroughly testing the controllers as F-zero and Axelay have arrived. I am reminded how much i suck at arcade shooters.. F-zero is difficult even on easy setting, i cant figure out how to brake? The controller seems responsive so far, but i havent really played the games much with it, or the original snes controller yet. My hands are not fond of the size though.. Cramping up a little while holding buttons down for a long time in Axelay. Ill try to adapt and not press so hard..

Anyway, review is finally begun… Sports carts and Mario kart are inbound!

All right, I’m excited the review has begun.

Yes, I used to own 93, but don’t anymore. I saw 98 lying around instead. It’s incredible how many Madden games were made for the SNES. A lot of NHL games were made, too.

As for breaking on F-Zero, I believe it might be B to break? Or perhaps the down arrow.

I found the braking buttons but they dont feel like braking.. it doesnt feel like they really slow you down much. Maybe im too used to more contemporary racing games.. anywho..

The games you sent me has arrived jrsupermoore, i appreciate your help. I am about to clean the contacts and some sticker residue and try them out right now. The review should now not be too far away. I need a small screw driver in order to open up the receiver for the controllers, as i intend to picture the pcb’s etc for the review, which i cant afford untill the end of the month, but come late january or beginning of february, Masamune should be recieving an email for him to look over and post on the site.
