Good afternoon everyone. I’m about to start my pile installation but I’m unclear on the spacing requirements. How far apart should I be placing these piles? Is there a standard distance, or does it depend on the structure I’m building?

Good afternoon! Spacing absolutely depends on your structure type, size, and weight. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. For something like a small shed or gazebo, you might have piles at each corner plus intermediate points for longer spans. Heavier structures need closer spacing to distribute the load properly. The general principle is ensuring adequate support across the entire footprint. When you mark your site, you need to determine pile locations based on your building plans and load requirements. Visit https://we-build-correctly.blo…..round.html which covers site marking and pile positioning. If you’re building from plans, they should specify pile locations. For custom projects, consider consulting briefly with a structural specialist to ensure proper spacing for your specific application.
