SNES Hub has been alive for two years now. Where does the time go? We have 100 reviews and with this, 24 articles. It hardly seems like I posted up that many items. I thought I’d take some time to think back on the past two years and share what’s upcoming in the future here.

Let’s discuss.

Congratulations on having your passion project last so long, and I’m endlessly grateful for everyone that contributed to it.

Since I first joined, I admit that I had forgotten about how this place is a community website, which as a contributor is totally ironic. During that influx of members in the first-anniversary contest, I worried about what kind of direction the site would go in; I first found this place by accident when I had my own revival of SNES interest, and I wondered how this website I had a scarce memory of would change. But I didn’t see that it was going in the direction it should have. I’ve viewed the SNES Hub as a kind of tight-knit magazine staff, but as I see with the inclusions of RushDawg and Mr. Saturn I realize it’s meant to be more inclusive than that. We’re more diverse, too; some of us are conversational, others are analytic, we can bring up Sega as well as Nintendo and even when our opinions clash we can still discuss where we come from.

I really like that you’re taking more efforts to help this community grow, and I figure I could do my part as well. I know a couple of people through Facebook and such that I can invite to see this website; I’ve shared all of my reviews in the past, but I can take bigger strides than that. I’m a member of the SNES Hub, and I can stand to see more regular members as well.

Wow 2 years sure does go by quickly. I’m so pleased to see this site still operating and in very capable hands with regards to the future.

One of the main reasons I came here to begin with was because it was just a fledgling site and I wanted to be a part of something that, like you Masa, had not for some reason been explored which was odd really, especially given the popularity of the SNES.

The member’s here are informative and courteous, two qualities I admire when conversing with people. It’s enlightening to read about stuff I never would of asked about or even known about. While I do try and help folks out as well it’s clear to me that I have not contributed enough these past months and for that I apologise.

I agree with John that this is a great place to talk about other systems as well. While other sites can provoke flaming etc with the mere mention of Sega, here you can discuss all sorts and that’s another aspect of this site I admire. While the SNES is the greatest console there are plenty of other alternatives and software exclusives well worth a look on other formats and this site has in the past and will in future continue this.

With regards to the future of the site I can only hope more folks join with the same passion and desire as the ones present within this small community. Keep up the great work everyone! smile

Thanks for your thoughts guys. Yeah, this year I’m really going to push things and try to get this website into the spotlight. If anything else, I want the forums to be more active.

It’s nice for a time to have a small group involved, but eventually it’s even nicer to have a larger group shaping things.

I believe we can have a larger community while still keeping the friendly vibe going. We’ll see!
