Have you ever had video game fever? I’ve had this conniving affliction more than once. Read here to learn about my latest dealings with it. Then post your experiences below. I’d like to hear your stories.

Thank you. Gathered all in less than a year’s time.

Trick is to stay off of Craigslit; its addictive.  In my area, people tend to use Kijiji more…

Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

I have to restrain myself from searching on Ebay for games or I’ll do a lot of impulse buying.

I’m currently challenging myself not to purchase any new games and just focus on the collection I have in 2013.  Sometimes video game fever gets in the way of enjoying what we already have!

Nope, my favourite genre is fighting games.   I do love pick up and play action games though and I include shmups in that category.

What’s your favourite genre?

Mine is definitely platformers. They’re easy to pick up and play and don’t require a huge time commitment to beat them. When I was a teenager I probably would of said RPGs, but I have less time on my hands now.

Yeah, I’ve definitely had phases where I couldn’t put a game down-late nights turning into early mornings, telling myself “just one more match” over and over. For me, it usually happens with competitive or story-heavy games where you get completely immersed and lose track of time. One thing I realized is that having the right setup actually makes those sessions more enjoyable and less exhausting-especially audio. I switched to a better Gaming Headset with a Mic recently, and it made a huge difference in communication and overall comfort during long sessions. Still, I try to balance it out now by setting limits so the “video game fever” doesn’t take over everything else 😄
