OfflineI still remember opening my first trade with that crazy leverage and feeling like a genius for about twenty minutes. I put in a small deposit, went long on GBP/USD, and within half an hour my account balance was up by almost 40%. I was shocked at how easy it looked, and of course I got greedy. The next morning I checked again, and the whole profit plus half my starting balance was gone because of one overnight spike. I didn’t even have a stop loss in place, just assumed the market would “come back.” That was the wake-up call that leverage doesn’t just multiply gains, it multiplies stupidity if you’re not careful.

OfflineI had the same problem when I started, chasing reversals that weren’t real. What really helped me was adding the aroon indicator to my chart. I like it because it’s not about price levels or moving averages, but about how long it’s been since highs and lows. That simple logic clicked for me: if the “up” value is staying near 100, it means highs keep forming recently, so the trend is alive. If the “down” value climbs instead, then it’s the opposite. I stopped guessing tops and bottoms as much because I could literally see the market telling me who’s in control. Something that surprised me is how effective it is for spotting consolidation too. When both lines hang around the middle, it’s like a warning that price is just wandering and I shouldn’t force trades. I also started using it with other tools — for example, if Aroon Up is high but RSI shows overbought, I don’t instantly short, I just wait to see if the trend really weakens. That saved me a lot of losses. My favorite part is that it’s straightforward: no need for tons of tweaks or advanced math. I even tested it on different pairs and timeframes, and the structure stays the same, which makes it easy to trust. Now instead of panicking, I let the indicator guide me into waiting for either a strong breakout or a clear shift in trend. It’s not perfect, nothing is, but it definitely gives me more confidence in timing my entries.

OfflineThe tricky part for me has always been balancing patience with fear of missing out. Sitting there watching candles crawl while waiting for a clear sign is exhausting, but jumping in too early feels even worse when it backfires. Sometimes I wonder if the real skill isn’t in finding the right setup but in controlling the urge to click that button before the picture is complete.
