OfflineI have always been a console guy only. My rationale for this is portable system screens are too small for my taste and playing on a PC keyboard didn’t appeal to me, I’m too used to a controller. Also I like laying down when playing games, not sitting in a chair.
But the games coming on the 3DS are starting to sway my opinion a bit. Still not too interested in PC gaming though I know there are console-like controllers for PCs now.

OfflineI’m mainly a fan of console games for the following reasons:
- I like the “plug and play” simplicity that consoles offer;
- I like to own physical copies of my console games; and
- I like the unique qualities of each console I own.
Handheld games are great, but I generally don’t find many opportunities to game when I am outside my home. I therefore end up playing my handheld games while at home which makes me feel like I’d be better off playing a console game on my TV.
PC games are better on so many levels; graphics, price, etc. What holds me back from being a PC gamer is the need to constantly upgrade your hardware and fiddle with settings to get things running optimally. Gaming is a hobby and something that I do to unwind and I really couldn’t be bothered with trying to max out my framerate on a PC game. I’d much rather just pop a cartridge / disc into my console and have fun!
Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

OfflineI can’t prefer one over the other. All three of these formats for video games, I find, have as many downsides as there are upsides.
Consoles give the most accessible long-lasting experiences, but every generation is a popularity contest. Game magazines have favored the guy with an Xbox over the guy with a Gamecube, or the guy with a Wii over the guy with a PlayStation 3. PCs have always offered richer technology than their console counterparts in each generation, but the physical language needed to properly play those games is outside of my skill range. Portable devices (outside of phones and tablets) have the smallest stakes, and in that regard give the best surprises. But some of those consoles have also been among the biggest turkeys in video game history; nobody today fondly remembers the Game.com, or the Game Boy Micro, or the Sega Nomad.

OfflineI vastly prefer consoles, and when they cannot deliver what I want I all but cease to be a gamer, with the exception of a few PC games that I could not pass up. But PC is far too time-consuming to be a hobby to me like console gaming.

OfflineThis…depends.
I do like console gaming since some genres such as Fighters and Shmups don’t fit the PC very well. Handhelds are useful for trips. PC Gaming provides the most freedom of the 3. As the consoles these days seem to be more like PC’s than just consoles, I prefer the PC over them lately for a lot of games & other things as consoles have a lot of restrictions. You don’t have to create a beast rig with colorful lights & the latest technology. Sometimes, a simple a low to mid-end PC can get the job done.
