I just found a cool retro gaming store near my home. As soon as you walk in, there is the Super Mario theme to let the shop keeper know someone came in. He has games for almost every system you could think of. There’s video game associated drinks, he has a space to hold video game tournaments and parties, even has some game boxes. I can’t say you could find any deals, but I would like to support this kind of business. I brought True Lies cart only from him today for $10. I’m seriously considering doing an article about this shop, after I get to know the owner a bit more.

So question is, do you have a local video game shop you go to? If so, tell us about it.

I think that is a GREAT IDEA!!

As far as my hometown we have nothing that cool, though we DO have a retro scene.

Exploring the New World on Nintendo Switch. Currently Playing: Zelda BOTW, Octopath Traveler, Sonic Mania, Yoku's Island Express, Mega Man 11. Currently Watching: Marble Hornets, Luther, Black Mirror, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5. Currently Reading: Influence by Robert Cialdini.

No such storefront shop in my hometown. Hardly any in sweden what so ever. We must rely on classified’s, auction sites and webshops. If you get lucky you might find games at thriftshops or fleamarkets, but you hardly ever make a deal or a find.

I have Asperger's Syndrome, which means i can come across as rigid and overly argumentative. Please try and look past this and contact me if you have a problem with what/how i type. I type and read very literally and use no undertones. Thank you for trying to understand. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A.....r_syndrome

Exactly the same where i am too. I rely massively on auctions and websites, without them i wouldn’t have hardly anything i have now. Sad really but thats the way it is. Im not blind to the reality that 90-95% of UK gamers would rather keep buying modern-setting shooters on an industrial scale.cry

I’m kinda lucky I found out about this place. I went to Gamestop hoping they may still have a few SNES games. Nada. After telling the knowledgeable clerk about wanting Super Nintendo games, she said: “You should go to Game Junkie, man!”

Like I said before, from what I saw, I didn’t see any deals that were better than online alternatives, but I would like to support such a business.

I have one in my county called Cybertron games.  You’ll probably hear me talk about it a bunch.  They sell games from nearly every console.  They even had full boxed versions of SMB3 and the DKC trilogy, but they were all sold before I could save up the money.  Everyone that works there is very knowledgeable and are willing to help you with anything.  I went to another store in a different town when I lived there called R.U. Game.  Same deal.  Loads of games and friendly staff.  Both of them had reasonable prices and had several consoles set up in the store to sample a game before you bought it.  Sometimes, they would have non-gaming events at the store, like a tabletop RPG day where you could come in and play with other people that enjoyed the same thing.  I’m a big supporter of local business and I would really encourage anyone to go to a local game store.

Currently looking for the following SNES games:

Chrono Trigger

EarthBound

Final Fantasy II (Final Fantasy IV)

Secret of Mana

Illusion of Gaia

Super Castlevania IV

Super Mario RPG

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

 Zombies Ate My Neighbors

TMNT IV

Contra III

I have a store called Vintage Stock, which is only like a minute from my house. they are pretty hip on Ebay prices, but they do have some great deals as well. they also rent out any game in the store which is pretty cool for the very expensive retro games.
