Indeed, that Eternal Champions on Sega CD is supposed to be a big improvement on the Genesis one so you’ll have to tell us what it’s like grimm.

whetteon I notice you splashing out on MM5, I often see MegaMan stuff going for high prices these days – it seems to have a massive following amongst the retro scene now. My fave of the series is MM7 on the SNES, for some reason I enjoy it more than the X series (is that wrong?) maybe because of the years I played MM4 on my toaster NES. Ahh… Toad Man, how many times did I kick your ass to get that first weapon upgrade laugh

Never played the prequel, so i couldnt compare the two. But its supposed to be a good fighter, and i wanna play the animals!

I have Asperger's Syndrome, which means i can come across as rigid and overly argumentative. Please try and look past this and contact me if you have a problem with what/how i type. I type and read very literally and use no undertones. Thank you for trying to understand. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A.....r_syndrome

I always remember the fatalities, even on the MD they looked incredible. Being burned at the stake like a witch or being gunned down by the Chicago mob, how cool is that.

Bimini Run finally arrived today in mint condition. I had ordered some box protectors from the US for my Nintendo stuff that arrived today also. Really I’d like to post all of my Nintendo gear in the collection topic along with my other stuff at the same time. Anyway once I’ve put a few of my games in the protectors I will add a pic to this topic later today to show what they look like.

Here are my archival video game box protectors with some games inside them. Not the greatest pic but you can tell from the zoom how they look. The light is reflecting from the window onto the GBA ones.Archival-VG-Box-Protectors-1.JPGImage Enlarger

Nice work Kanto, I was thinking the same having only played the N64 Pokemon I thought would be nice to play the originals finally. Not got round to it yet but Red or Blue I’m not fussed. The one that interests me the most is Gale of Darkness on GC but it seems to go for high prices now.

The one’s I got I am very happy with. They are made from durable PET plastic and have the following qualities;

  • Acid Free
  • Archival
  • Crystal clear clarity
  • Anti-scratch coating
  • Interlocking tabs to provide secure closure
  • Lead & phthalate-free

It’s a great way to introduce kids to VG’s. Just set up Wii Sports and have some fun with ’em laugh

I still can’t win at bowling…

bump

Yesterday was a good day, I had an opportunity to look in several charity shops, market stalls and cash generator shops and got a few items that were hidden amongst the seemingly endless backdrop of sports titles.

Eternal Quest, PS2 – £1

Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution, PS2 – £1

Mario Strikers Charged Football, Wii – £2.50

X-Men: Next Dimension, Gamecube – £2

Bought a Dreamcast RPG in brand new condition. Was released only on PC and the Dreamcast console exclusively and is based on the science-fiction/fantasy novels by Anne McCaffrey…

I was actually able to squeeze a few extra games on to my shelf (it’s at 100% capacity now).

My recent pick-ups are:

  • Space Invaders Extreme 2 (DS)
  • Glory of Heracles (DS)
  • Strikers 1945 (PS1)
  • Sega Rally 2 (DC)
  • SoulCalibur (DC)
  • Under Defeat HD (PS3)

Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

DC Soul Calibur was SOOOOO epic at the time. Still looks great but then it was mind blowing for a launch title!!

SoulCalibur was one hell of a killer app for the Dreamcast and like you said, it still looks great today.  It’s arguably the best looking game on the system still to this day.

I remember when SoulCalibur II came out for the PS2/GC/Xbox and everyone was going gaga over how awesome it was.  While II was a great game it really lacked the “wow” factor for anyone who had played the DC original.

Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

Yep, I was like “Oh Soul Calibur? Yeah I’ve been playing that for a long time on my Dreamcast.” Although I really do like the GC version solely because of the ability to play as Link!!
