This is a Genesis game that I found out about last year. It was too late to order one then. Now Watermelon is doing a reprint of their game so people who missed out before have a chance to own a copy.

For those that don’t know, Pier Solar is a Genesis RPG that was first released in 2010. It’s a 64 Meg cart which I believe is the biggest Genesis cart to date. I heard good things about the game so I just pre-ordered a Genesis version for myself today. It should be shipping this year.

Here’s a Youtube review from Classic Gaming Room:

Here’s the website to order:http://www.magicalgamefactory……r-solar_1/

It’s $59.99 USD for the Genesis/Mega Drive version, less for other versions. If this sounds interesting to you, check out it out.

The option to buy a reprint of the game has been there for almost a year Masamune. I’m still waiting for my copy after many many many months. Last news I heard was that they were planning to start production in April.. But they haven’t given us any update on that yet and were already halfway through the month.

If any of you guys are willing to be very patient, then I guess this game is worth the wait though.

Yes, I’ve been reading the comments on their site before I put any money out. Seems like a lot people have been waiting for a long time.

They may be waiting for a certain amount of people to pre-order before they actually start production. Anyway, from what I read they will start production on this re-print in the near future.

Until then, I have plenty of games to play, so there’s no rush for me.

This post reminded me to invest more into Project Y to get the investors edition, thanks. I missed the opportunity to invest into the SNES project but the Genesis one seems very cool too.

They leaked some of the soundtrack for it today:

The reprints should be shipping soon I believe. WM sent an e-mail on July 2 saying this:

Some of you have been asking about the release date of the Mega Drive/Genesis REPRINT of Pier Solar for Mega Drive/Genesis. The reason for its delay is because of a new manufacturing method. The purpose of it is to increase and secure quality. At the moment, everything except the boards of the cartridges is ready.

We are expecting four more weeks of delay before the production starts.

If this information is correct, then they will most likely be producing carts in about a week from now. It also looks like the game boxes are done! There is still time to get a copy from this (probably last) batch of Genesis reprint before the HD release. The wait is almost over!

Well it’s about time! I actually heard the X-Box Live version was holding up all the other versions. In any case, I’ll be happy once I get it!

I’m glad they will be shipping soon, but that really was an awfully long wait. I feel bad for the people who pre-ordered  way before I did. I can only imagine what they were thinking as they were waiting.

I don’t think I’ll be doing business again with this company.

I know how you feel.. I pre ordered mine in July 2014. I also invested in Project Y on the Genesis back then too so I guess I’m in for a few more years of waiting.. As long as the project gets finalised and shipped someday, it is fine with me. I’m not in that much of a hurry to play those Genesis games anyways. But yeah.. I don’t think I’ll buy from them again once I get that second game.

Edit: I received a confirmation that my copy of Pier Solar was shipped 1 hour ago :)

Did you get your copy yet Antarch? I received mine. The presentation looks fantastic. I also received a key chain and two postcards.

Nice. The game truly looks really pretty. You could almost mistake it for a SNES RPG!

That’s good. I still probably won’t buy from them again unless the product is already in stock and ready to go.
