What controller are you using?  The GameCube controllers just don’t feel right.

Was thinking about this:

anyone using one?  Good or no?

I only play on a SNES original, but the Procontroller is pretty much a SNES controller from what I hear.

Exploring the New World on Nintendo Switch. Currently Playing: Zelda BOTW, Octopath Traveler, Sonic Mania, Yoku's Island Express, Mega Man 11. Currently Watching: Marble Hornets, Luther, Black Mirror, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5. Currently Reading: Influence by Robert Cialdini.

The pro controller is very comfy as well, plus it’s wireless.  Playing on the Wii has its pros (Chrono Trigger is $8) and its cons (crappy games are also $8).

Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

I’ll have to check out the pro controller. I’ve been using my wavebirds, but can not stand the GC button layout. Has to be one of the worst controllers ever.

Excellent! Glad you like it.

BTW what SNES games are you looking at?

I’m really thinking about getting a SNES replica Wii controller like the OP posted. When I’m playing a Super Nintendo game, I would preferably like to be playing it on a controller that looks like a SNES one.

Like RushDog, mentioned, there are some incredible deals like Chrono Trigger for $8 (which I purchased). I think it’s a wonderful idea to have such great games for less than $10. My only concern with them is how long will I be able to play it on my Wii? What happens if my Wii breaks? Will we be able to perform D.I.Y projects 10-20 years down the line on our Wii and still have our Virtual Console games?

The thing that is holding me back from investing in the Virtual Console is Nintendo’s refusal to have an accounts system across all hardware that would let me play the games I have purchased at any time.  Without that it is worthless to me.

I want to OWN my games! For the same reason I will have nothing to do with any console that ditches the physical format. It’s really a shame that these companies are so obsessed with controlling their product, not realizing that it is the CUSTOMERS that do so.

Too bad, since I have been itching to look into the NES and TG-16 Library deeper.

Those are all great games coldfusion.  If you have a Genesis, I’d recommend getting NHL ’94 for that though.  It’s the superior version and arguably the best sports game ever.

You can’t go wrong with either version though.

Did you know that there’s an active online community that plays whole seasons online?  They also hack the ROM to edit / update rosters, etc.  Pretty cool!

I like nhl94 on genesis, aside from the “weight bug”‘.  Lots of updated rosters and hacked rooms though.  this game and tecmo Super Bowl have awesome communities. I couldn’t join the nhl94 forums after a couple tries, the admin doesn’t appear to respond to email?

slapshot67 did updated roms for every NHL from 71-89.  great fun.

these two games got me back into 8/16 bit games. I loaded snes9x on my wii and never looked back :)

The weight bug is part of its charm, though I could see why that would turn some folks off.

Who is your team by the way?  I use the Nordiques.  I love their line-up for the ’93 – ’94 season (Sakic, Sundin, Nolan and the high-scoring Hextall between the pipes!).

I play with Toronto a lot, as well as Chicago. Due to the weight bug, Roenick is near invincible And you can’t beat Eddie Belfour.

Unfortunately my fav team is unplayable as you can’t even brush up against Lindros without knocking him to the ice.
