Oh man, way too many. Some of which I’ve pontificated about (perhaps to an extreme in some cases, lol) on my site. Just off the top of my head
-Experiencing the SNES for the very first time December 1991, home alone in a “haunted cabin” (or so my 8-year-old imagination thought…)
-Mom buying me my first SNES game, King of the Monsters, December 1992
-Seeing with my best friend the Japanese versions of Slam Masters, Fighter’s History and King of the Monsters 2 all lined up next to one another, MONTHS BEFORE THEIR US VERSIONS WERE OUT. Nelson and I were stunned in utter amazement. I will never forget that early June 1994 moment! Talk about having your 10 year old mind blown away
-Epic Super Play eBay win for just $183 back in late summer 2006. Hands down the best online transaction of my life
-Getting back into the SNES January 17, 2006
-Gaming with my old game crew. Glorious sleepovers in the early-mid ’90s, where we spent many Saturday nights bombing each other in Super Bomberman 1/2, slam dunking on one another in NBA Jam (TE) and slamming each other in Saturday Night Slam Masters. Doesn’t get much more fun than gaming with your buds
etc. etc. I could go on for days. My nostalgia for SNES gaming runs deep.

I think for me was the first time I went to Japan in 1998, and I saw so many great Super Famicom games in stores that year. It was towards the end of the console’s life, so plenty of games were cheap then. The selection was incredible too, so I bought many SFC (and Saturn) games on that trip.
My worst collecting memory was when I sold my North American Aero Fighters cartridge for only $10 after buying the SFC version, Sonic Wings. Then I later found out that the game goes for a lot on eBay, easily five times that amount. No wonder it sold so quickly on the forum I posted the sale on…
I have a lot of fond memories of gaming, so it’s really hard to pick one. However if I must, I would say getting a NES, which was my first video game console in 1988. I was so happy to have one. I remember the box was in perfect condition and I was reluctant to open it. I was content on just reading the box descriptions and looking at the pictures for a couple of days.
I finally opened it and smelled it, and it smelled so nice. Anyone remember how a new NES system or game used to smell when you took it out the box?
That’s my fondest memory by far!
