A local comic and games convention is coming up in my town and the last one I went to there were three retro game dealer booths selling mostly N64 and SNES, and that’s where I bought Jurassic Park ($5)and DKC ($15), which was equivalent to how much the games were going for on Amazon.

I’m looking to expand my collection ever more, and these are the titles I’m thinking of. The $ estimates are current used prices on Amazon

– Star Fox – $10+ (a must anyway)

– Killer Instinct – $9+

– Super Metroid – $35-40+

– Top Gear 2 – $5-12

– Kirby Super Star – $30+

– Donkey Kong Country 3 – $15-20

I watched some of a playthrough of Super Metroid on Youtube and while it does intrigue me with its aesthetic similarity to Mega Man X, plus your playing as a kickbutt robot chick, and its has the reputation as being one of the greatest games ever, $35 is a little steep for me right now. Would it be worth it to buy it on Virtual Console for $8? It might – but then again I HATE how the money is handled on Virtual Console – buy a block of 10 pts when I want an 8 dollar game my ass, or 20 pts, etc.

As for Kirby Super Star, it sounds like a great deal with so many games it has, and I’m eager to try a Kirby game since I’ve never played a full one, just the Kirby Adventure demo on Super Smash Brawl. I think it might be more worth it to get the Kirby Dream Collection for Wii though because it has Kirby Super Star plus FIVE other games. Has anybody played Dream Collection? Are they, for example, remastered like Super Mario All-Stars? I’d rather play it with original/16-bit graphics or close to, not any Super Mario Galaxy bullshit or anything.

I would definitely suggest getting Kirby’s Dream collection. The games don’t have any visual makeovers and you get Kirby Superstar plus five other full games for about $30 or less now. The game also includes a soundtrack CD and artbook. There’s also three episodes of the Kirby cartoon that aired in the early 2000’s and other historical goodies.

If you want to get those games that you’ve listed anyway I should opt for Metroid and Kirby first since they will only rise in price in the near future. It’s a decent price for those carts from what I see. Metroid is here (the Netherlands) about 60,- Euro’s (cart only pal version) which is about $ 80,-  I think

I currently would like to get Super Bomberman 3, 4 and 5 on Super Famicom.

Also want US SNES version of E.V.O but it’s a game that’s unfortunately very expensive.

Are there any major differences between the Super Bomberman games or is it if you played one you played them all?

Our old friend Steve wrote an excellent summary on the Bomberman games with plenty of screenshots on his website. Check it out, it’s worth seeing. http://www.rvgfanatic.com/6501…..01015.html

^ Everyone wants EVO Search For Eden. As much as I’d like to own a CiB copy I might just have to play it on my Xbox via emulation.
