Hi,

In case you missed my intro, I’m from an Electronic Music Group in Brighton (UK) and we’re in the early stages of a new project. An album of SNES music.

We have two tracks in development (won’t tell you what yet, keep it a surprisewink). We have several ideas of what we might want to do for the rest of the album, but want your opinions too.

Our remit is to not do the obvious stuff. Yes, have stuff that’s awesome, but don’t just do the same old, same old that other game music remixers do. It’s nice to always introduce people to the unusual and obscure.

Can be menu music, map music, end credit music, anything from a game. Even a short piece to suffice as an interlude or something. Must be exclusive to the SNES though. Nothing cross platform. It’s all about SNES!!!

In all, musical merit & nostalgic sentiment, coupled with a dynamic of songs that flow and work well alongside each other needs to be achieved. It’s actually quite tricky, and it means we won’t be able to please everyone with a request. But we’re only three people and our gaming tastes are very similar, so it would be good to get some broader input as there may be some epic tunes we’ve overlooked or never heard.

So please feel free to make suggestions and if possible post a link to YouTube, just in case we don’t know it. If you’re still not sure what we’re about, check out our SEGA album. I can’t post links yet as I’m still new, but go to BandCamp or SoundCloud and search Opus Science Collective or The Magical Sound Shower Project.

All input will be greatly appreciated.

I heard the Sega album on Soundcloud, and I like it. It’s very “Discovery”. Anyway, here are my requests for the SNES project.

This is a nice project! I’ve been working for fun on some SNES/Genesis tracks too. It is nothing compared to what you guys have achieved with your Sega album though. I will definitely want to listen to your work once its done!

Here are some suggestions:

Secret of Mana – Spirit of the Night

F-Zero – Port Town

Super RBI Baseball – Title Music

Lufia II – Battle Theme

Final Fantasy Mystic Quest – Battle Theme

Buster Busts Loose-Babs Rescued

Buster Busts Loose-Stage 3

Buster Busts Loose-Stage 6

Buster Busts Loose-Final Battle

X-Kaliber 2097- Silicon Jesus Break the Screen mix

Thanks for the input so far guys. Very helpful and very much appreciated. I’m just bumping this thread now for any further suggestions as we’re going to sit down this weekend and draw up a plan for The Opus Science Entertainment System wink
