This one goes out to the collectors out there; do you care if a game is the Player’s Choice version or not?
I personally don’t care, though I’m not that serious about collecting. Many “Players Choice” variants are extremely common for games such as F-Zero (which can still be found sealed relatively commonly) and Tetris & Dr. Mario.
I’m also glad that PC variants exist, as they generally drive the price of a game down (somewhat).
Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown
I didn’t really care at all until I started trying to trade games over the internet. Sooo many people upright refused to trade a game that was player’s choice, even if it was in perfect condition. I just couldn’t understand it.
Maybe I can see not wanting PSone greatest hits because that green was so ugly, but for other systems I personally don’t mind.

PS one Greatest Hits green is definitely the ugliest of all “best seller” labels. Even that doesn’t bother me though; I recently got Parasite Eve in its ugly green variant.
You are right though; some collectors take “Players Choice” vs. “black label” VERY seriously. Sadly, these people often seem more interested in collecting games than playing them!
