Pack-in? Super Mario World.

Not a pack-in? Darius Twin. I still love that game.

That is a good question. I think my favorite pack-in game was a Link to the Past. That’s the game I had packed in my first Super Nintendo in 1994. I didn’t play Super Mario World until much later. My favorite Super NES game is Chrono Trigger. I played the heck out of that game and got all 11 endings or however many there were.I can’t remember the second game I ever got.

Oh man, this is hard to remember! I played a friend’s SNES long before I had my own, but if we’re talking first SNES game we actually owned, then it’s Street Fighter II. I played this game so much in the arcades, and we even rented a SNES just to play it when it came out. Finally owning this game at home was the like the realization of some longstanding dream.

The very first SNES game I played was probably F-Zero or Super Mario World at my friends house. I don’t remember exactly, since he already had several games. At that time, everything seemed awesome; even crap like Home Alone! Hahaha!

Lol Eric Dude! Yes, when the Super Nintendo came out every game looked amazing. I was coming from a NES at the time and I thought the SNES was the best thing since sliced bread.

At that time I thought graphics couldn’t get any better.

I still kinda feel like graphics can’t get any better. Just a little, though. 🙂

My first game was Super Mario World (like ten million otheres lol). But honestly the one I think I spent the most time with was F-Zero, partly because I had yet to finish Super Mario Bros. 3!

Exploring the New World on Nintendo Switch. Currently Playing: Zelda BOTW, Octopath Traveler, Sonic Mania, Yoku's Island Express, Mega Man 11. Currently Watching: Marble Hornets, Luther, Black Mirror, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 5. Currently Reading: Influence by Robert Cialdini.

I played F-Zero late in the life cycle of the system. Even so, I liked it. I couldn’t beat it tho. It was so hard! laugh

Pack-in game would be Super Mario All-Stars so that must count as my first i guess. Non pack-in I think was Super Mario World, it’s so long ago now.wink

I got my first SNES for Christmas years ago.  I had Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario World.  I let someone borrow it years later and they got rid of it and all the games.  I bought the one I own now several months ago and I got The Legend of Zelda:A Link to the Past for my “second first” game.

Currently looking for the following SNES games:

Chrono Trigger

EarthBound

Final Fantasy II (Final Fantasy IV)

Secret of Mana

Illusion of Gaia

Super Castlevania IV

Super Mario RPG

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

 Zombies Ate My Neighbors

TMNT IV

Contra III

Like many people, the first Super NES game I got was Super Mario World, which was a week or so before I got the system.

Non-pack in was Super Bases Loaded; my Dad got it for me when I got my SNES

Not the best baseball game by any stretch but still a lot of fun.  I have some fond memories of it.

Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

I think that the first game I played with Super Mario World. I didn’t have it as a pack in with my system but we did own it. honestly that is still my favorite Mario game of all time. it’s funny how well is has aged really.

I hope you kept the box!  It’s so rare to find a boxed SMW.

You’re right, the game has aged fantastically.  I used to prefer Yoshi’s Island, but I find myself coming back to SMW more and more.

I’m a huge Sonic fan as well, though it’s kind of funny that the first Sonic game gave SMW such a run for its money, even though SMW had so much more to offer (way more levels, save feature, 2-player mode, etc.).

It wasn’t until Sonic 3 & Knuckles (technically two games) where the Sonic franchise finally had a game(s) that was on par with SMW.  Sonic 2 came close though.

Now playing: SNES - Phalanx, R-Type III, Genesis - Bio Hazard Battle, PS3 - Dragon's Crown

Now that I’m thinking about it, when my parents bought me my first Super Nintendo, there was a promotion to get a free copy of Super Mario All-Stars. I filled out the required paperwork and mailed it in. A few weeks later I received SM All-Stars in the mail with manual (No box though).

That was my first non pack-in game!

knuckles was awesome, that was the only Sonic game that was 2d that I really liked and got into as a kid.. I honestly thought the 3d Sonic games were much better.

When I was younger I wasn’t really allowed to play video games (sucks right?) So, when I was about five years old my parents got me a GBA. Well back then I had no idea about games except for the occasional pay and play N64 (remember those?) at a hotel or something. Now that i know a TON more about video games, I just received an Snes as a gift from a friend along with the game Kirby’s Dream Course about two months ago. I sure missed out on a bunch of stuff.

No time like the present to start swimming in a sea of endless quality.

Bignasky, I’m in a similar boat right now, the first game I bought was Super Mario World. Just had to get the classics first. But beware, these games do get so costly! Collecting is time consuming too if you don’t want to break the bank!
