Officially, no.

Some riders get lucky. Many are fined. Others lose hours at checkpoints. This is not worth the stress.

What Is the RC (Registration Certificate)?

The RC proves the motorcycle is legally registered.

  • – it must be the original document
  • – it must match the bike number
  • – Without an RC, police can stop your journey immediately.

Bike Insurance and PUC Certificate

Insurance is mandatory, at least third-party coverage. PUC (Pollution Under Control) shows the bike meets emission rules. Foreign riders often ignore this, but police do check it, especially in cities and tourist areas.
