Yes, it is very manageable and many people from Ghaziabad do it every year. The distance is roughly 130 to 140 kilometres and on a normal day takes about two and a half to three hours. During Holi however, traffic near Mathura and Vrindavan builds up fast so leaving by 5 or 5:30 am makes a real difference.

Reach early, spend the morning at Banke Bihari or the Prem Mandir celebrations, grab some kachori and lassi from the local stalls, and head back by early afternoon before the return traffic gets heavy. It is a full but very doable day.

The only thing to plan carefully is your transport. Driving yourself through that crowd is stressful. A lot of groups going from NCR book a Tempo Traveller on Rent in Ghaziabad so everyone travels together, parks once and enjoys without the hassle of managing multiple cars.
