OfflineAnyone remember the ‘Attitude Era’ when WCW owned by Ted Turner and WWF by Vince McMahon were fighting for the TV ratings, the quality of program was excellent back then. Been watching a few matches on dvd recently and it all came flooding back. The Undertaker, Mankind, Steve Austin, Goldust, Vader, HBK Shawn Michaels etc. The roster was freakin’ awesome.

OfflineI loved wrestling during the Attitude era!
The “Monday Night Wars” are wrestling’s equivalent of the 16-bit console wars. It was a lot of fun watching WCW and WWE compete. Didn’t really watch much of ECW though.
My favourite was Bret Hart, though the list of ‘rasslers you have up there are some of the best ever.

OfflineI to liked Bret Hart but always thought his brother Owen was the better technician and athlete even though he was in the shadow for a lot of his career. One of the finest moments in WWF history was at the King of the Ring ’94 when Jim ‘the Anvil’ Neidhart, formerly Brets tag-team partner from a few years back as the Hart Foundation turned heel and set Bret up to lose the crown to his younger sibling Owen in a brilliant storyline. Owen Hart as the self-proclaimed ‘King Of Harts’ was awesome. His obsessive, divisive, paranoid megalomania persona was up there with the best.
Oh man Sting, I remember him having a Guile buzzcut blond hair-do ages ago in WCW. He went int o the black/white style around the mid 90’ss coinciding with the more adult image that WCW was promoting at the time. Hollywood Hogan became leader of nWo which was a big shock at the time.
Think one of my all-time faves is Ric Flair. If there was one guy who could do talking, interviews and mic-work to a high standard every time he was on Ric was the man.

OfflineThe nWo arc for the WCW is one of wrestling’s best. WCW had such a huge level of talent at that time, it’s too bad they didn’t know what to do with it all (especially Bret Hart).
Ric was one of the all-time greats on the mic and, in his prime, in the ring. It’s a shame he stuck around a little too long (in the ring that is).

OfflineThose are some great names. I liked the angle they did with Sgt. Slaughter when he betrayed the US fans and formed the “Triangle of Terror” with Col. Mustafa (aka Iron Sheik) and General Adnan. It all came to a head at W/mania 7 when they burnt the US flag in the ring or something before the main match. Great times.
