Anyone know what skills CarePoint’s training program covers? I’m thinking about becoming a caregiver. Last month, I helped my grandma with her daily tasks, like cooking and moving around, but I felt unprepared for her memory issues. It was tough not knowing how to handle it properly. I’m curious if CarePoint teaches stuff like dementia care or just basics like bathing. Anyone taken it and can share what they learned?

CarePoint’s training is super practical for caregivers. I joined it last fall after helping my mom post-surgery, feeling clueless about her needs. They teach you personal care, like safe bathing, plus how to manage meds and spot health changes. The emotional support part, like handling mood swings, was a big help for me—learned to listen and stay patient. I found their online caregiver training at https://carepointpa.com/caregi…..-training/ really useful for picking up tips on empathy and communication. It’s hands-on, with pros guiding you, and it’s approved by Pennsylvania, so you’re set to start working. Definitely helped me feel more confident with my mom’s care.

Just saw this thread and got curious since I’m thinking about caregiver training myself. I’ve been looking after my dad, who’s got arthritis, and it’s tricky knowing how to help without overstepping. From what I’ve read, programs like these usually cover stuff like helping with daily tasks—bathing, dressing, or eating—while also teaching you how to keep someone’s spirits up. I’ve learned a bit just by watching how my dad’s nurse moves him to avoid pain. Things like first aid or understanding meds seem key too. I’m wondering if they teach you how to deal with family members who have opinions on care. Anyone learned something unexpected, like managing stress or specific techniques for mobility? I’m trying to figure out what’s worth my time.
