No, I don’t like “Inspector Gadget”. I wish it were different, but it isn’t. But I don’t think you need to be a fan to find the game adaptation underwhelming.

An elaboration on my opinions of the show:
“Inspector Gadget” is very hard for me to watch. All the DiC cartoons I’ve seen are this way, to varying degrees. The animation is robotic, the pacing is lethargic, and all the jokes land with a thud. I find myself a mile ahead of the plot with the episodes I watch, so I try getting comfortable with the underwritten characters and action scenes ruined by bad drawing. It’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” without the saving attitude about how junky it is.

Inspector Gadget was one of my favorite cartoons growing up. Perhaps the choppy animation and bad jokes didn’t bother me then or maybe the animation didn’t seem so bad and the jokes were charming for the time period when it was released.
Have you ever seen He-man or She-ra cartoon series from the 80s? Loved those shows as well and didn’t have a problem with them back then. I saw She-ra on TV recently and couldn’t believe I used to love that show. The animation was just terrible.
Perhaps as time marches on, people expect more out of animation.
