RoboCop was a very hot property in the 80s and 90s with multiple feature length films, toy lines, comic books, and of course (the reason why we are all here), video games.

RoboCop 3 for the SNES was released a year before the actual movie came out. I dunno if that was an indication of the game’s quality, but reviewer John Legendoffzelda didn’t quite take kindly to it in his review here.

RoboCop 3 always gets mixed reactions, but I think that’s part of its charm. It leans harder into a lighter, almost experimental tone compared to the earlier films, and while it loses some of the grit, it’s interesting to see how the franchise tried new ideas within a sci-fi shell. That kind of creative risk reminds me why I enjoy digging into lesser known video spaces. I’ve recently been watching short indie sci-fi and cyberpunk clips on platforms like TabooTube, where creators play with themes similar to RoboCop in raw, unexpected ways.
