What can be said that hasn’t already been said about this game? Street Fighter II was a smashing hit in the arcades and on the Super Nintendo.
Some of my fondest video game memories was playing Street Fighter II at Pizza Hut and wishing I could play it at home. Well Capcom made that dream come true and John’s review can be read here.

Gawd I love, love, love this game. Capcom in effect. Great review, and nicely put about its powerful subtext about globalization.
Chun-Li is my fave. I like how ironic Dhalsim is as a yoga fighter is, although he is damn cumbersome. Beside’s Ryu’s tsatsumaki senpukyaku, my favorite move is M. Bison’s head stomp.
My favorite place to play this game on arcade was the skating rink.

I have this game on both the SNES and the Genesis. I prefer the Genesis version mainly because of the 6-button controller but the sound effects are horrible!
I’d never thought about playing on a 6-button Sega controller. My friend had only a 3-button, so we had to press START to swap between punches and kicks. Six buttons would alter the experience considerably.
Personally, I don’t mind using the SNES’ six buttons. There’s something intrinsically natural about using the top triggers for fierce attacks.

Man, World Warrior… I don’t know how to rate this game nowadays, because it’s basically unplayable in light of other SF titles, but you had to crawl before you could walk. I have fond memories of World Warrior, but I will never play it except for “lulz”.
Also, Hyper Fighting is the best. The Genesis version has AWFUL sound and music!
